About 30 years ago, I bought a cassette tape from a Filk Singer who performed for a tiny group at a Las Vegas hotel (no casino). Filk is Science Fiction Folk Music. I was drawn to this album with it's libertarian/anarchist/something theme and I liked that it was a concept album and the songs sort of tell a story (like Pink Floyd's The Wall).
At some point in my life, I had the aging cassette transfered to AIFF and later to MP3, so the quality isn't great. I've always wanted to share this album with others but I refuse to commit crimes in the name of good deeds. With my luck, they'll accidentally give me a 230 year sentence because each word will be treated as a separate crime, or something equally disturbing.
So, I wrote to the artist, Leslie Fish and said that since this never was put in real print and you can't buy it anywhere, could I share it with my internet contacts here. She gave me full permission even though she said there will be a CD version eventually. If you share it further, please credit Leslie Fish.
So, I had to learn how to put this on the internet and I found a place to do it. You'll have to download them one by one. I swear they are normal MP3 files that have been guarded by cats all these years, dangerous cats. Cats who absolutely guarantee you that these files are legit and will not hurt your computer. They are residing at MediaFire.com, a cloud service. I paid for the space I'm using there so you should not get any ads with your visit or download.
Your reactions will be appreciated. Her singing voice is, well, kind of countryish but the words, oh the words. If you want to know more about Leslie LESLIE FISH is her website. She's a very interestring person who also breeds high IQ polydactyl cats.
And now, if I don't screw it up, here are the songs of before, during and after the war.

BTW, as was the case with music before these modern times, you can understand every word she sings. However, you can also find the lyrics on the net by searching for "Leslie Fish" + the title of the song. The number preceding the songs is mine to keep the storyline in order. Before, during and after the war (I'm a master of stating the obvious).
Here are pictures of Leslie, one of Leslie's cats, an in-print album of hers and the cassette cover of Firestorm.
If you have problems accessing the files, let me know. If you want to thank me, please do. If you want to buy some music from Leslie, please do. If you want to thank her for making these songs available to you free, please do. If you want to thank Scweddy Balls for permitting me to do this, please do. If you want to adopt a cat, go to a shelter:kitty:
If you don't like the music - blame Obama or Boehner.
