About 30 years ago, I bought a cassette tape from a Filk Singer who performed for a tiny group at a Las Vegas hotel (no casino). Filk is Science Fiction Folk Music. I was drawn to this album with it's libertarian/anarchist/something theme and I liked that it was a concept album and the songs sort of tell a story (like Pink Floyd's The Wall).

At some point in my life, I had the aging cassette transfered to AIFF and later to MP3, so the quality isn't great. I've always wanted to share this album with others but I refuse to commit crimes in the name of good deeds. With my luck, they'll accidentally give me a 230 year sentence because each word will be treated as a separate crime, or something equally disturbing.

So, I wrote to the artist, Leslie Fish and said that since this never was put in real print and you can't buy it anywhere, could I share it with my internet contacts here. She gave me full permission even though she said there will be a CD version eventually. If you share it further, please credit Leslie Fish.

So, I had to learn how to put this on the internet and I found a place to do it. You'll have to download them one by one. I swear they are normal MP3 files that have been guarded by cats all these years, dangerous cats. Cats who absolutely guarantee you that these files are legit and will not hurt your computer. They are residing at MediaFire.com, a cloud service. I paid for the space I'm using there so you should not get any ads with your visit or download.

Your reactions will be appreciated. Her singing voice is, well, kind of countryish but the words, oh the words. If you want to know more about Leslie LESLIE FISH is her website. She's a very interestring person who also breeds high IQ polydactyl cats.

And now, if I don't screw it up, here are the songs of before, during and after the war.

FIRESTORM FOLDER LINK

BTW, as was the case with music before these modern times, you can understand every word she sings. However, you can also find the lyrics on the net by searching for "Leslie Fish" + the title of the song. The number preceding the songs is mine to keep the storyline in order. Before, during and after the war (I'm a master of stating the obvious).

Here are pictures of Leslie, one of Leslie's cats, an in-print album of hers and the cassette cover of Firestorm.

If you have problems accessing the files, let me know. If you want to thank me, please do:). If you want to buy some music from Leslie, please do. If you want to thank her for making these songs available to you free, please do. If you want to thank Scweddy Balls for permitting me to do this, please do. If you want to adopt a cat, go to a shelter:kitty:

If you don't like the music - blame Obama or Boehner.

I'm sorry if its bad form to bump your own thread but I'm stunned that only one person has taken advantage of this and I put a lot of time and effort into this project so you guys could have free music with guns, tanks, bombs, revolution, mutants and revenge.

I'll beg in my next post.

Listened to a few, and I like

The 2nd song reminds me of this a bit

The third reminds me of this

OMG, someone actually tried this FREE music? Thank you.

So far, this thread has had 110 views and zero downloads. I couldn't be more mystified. If you listen to them in order, they actually tell a story, kind of like Roger Waters does. This is the only place you'll find these until somewhen in the future.

Anyway, thanks for responding. If nothing else, you moved the thread back up and I can still hope that someone may be clever enough to download and see what I see in this album.

If nothing else you can take a break from BAD OBAMA - GOOD OBAMA for an hour or so.

You're welcome

I haven't listened to all of the songs yet. Just the first five, so I don't yet have a clear idea of the story. However, I will listen to more if it later.

Also, you don't have to download the songs. There is a button you can click to just listen to the songs without downloading, so if anyone is concerned about virus, etc, they can just click on the "Listen" button and enjoy.

The story isn't exactly linear in terms of a continuous arc. Basically, there are the songs about the breakdown of society, then the war itself and our leaders hiding undergrounds, the revenge on the leaders and finally the attempt by new tyrants to take over and their unhappy ending.

But if I can be entertaining enough to keep you responding every few hours, this thread will rise back up until eventually somebody actually downloads the FEEE (dammit) album and gets some stimulation and ....well, you know. I've never done anything like this before and this is an illustration of why I'm no longer a businessman since I can't even give stuff away for feee let alone make any money at it. Isn't that pathetic? I used to be o clever and now it seems I can't find my ass using both hands.

I love music...I love free music...I especially love free, legal music. I've downloaded all of the tracks. I'll give them a listen and comment in another post later on.

Thanks, Speck...and thank you, Leslie.

So, what do you think? Aren't those lyrics pretty profound?
