.This news would surprise the Liberals and Progressive that support and admire the Castroit regime, but it don’t surprise most Cubans. The released of German documents prove without a doubt the hire of Adolf Hitler's Waffen-SS officers and the efforts to hire German paratroopers and technicians.Fidel Castro Hired Nazi SS to Train Military, German Intel Documents Reveal

In 1962, then President of Cuba, Fidel Castro recruited two former Nazi SS soldiers to help train his military at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, according to declassified documents released by Germany's secret intelligence agency, the BND (Bundesnachrichtendienst).
Castro invited four SS officers to Havana, where he offered them quadruple the average salary a German made at that time in exchange for their expertise. Two of the four accepted his offer, the documents, dated October 26, 1962, reveal.
The men served in Adolf Hitler's Waffen-SS, a force separate from the army and known as the armed wing of the Nazi party.

And so what. Pinochet also did it, and he was hardly a communist. Plus it was with the full backing of the US.

The US S did offer asylum to German scientists after WWII, but they were in fact scientists, not Nazi SS war criminals. In contrast, Russia capture and force most of the German scientists to perform work for them. Countries like Russia, Egypt and Argentina benefited from hiring former Nazis war criminals.
Seem that the gap between the extreme left and the extreme right is very small, indeed they find common ground in a totalitarian dictatorship. If you're going to recruit people, try to recruit the best. Nothing like the Nazi SS re-education and brutality training program to build your political and secret police into a Gestapo, like Fidel Castro did. They will be right at home under the Castro fascist regime these days. No wonder Castro admire and imitated Adolph Hitler fascism.
Yes... and the US openly hired former Nazi scientists to build us the rockets we used to bomb the Vietnamese. Everybody made a dime off Germans after WWII.
Where were these people hiding for fourteen years before being hired?
So Castro is alright by you. Got it!
Why wouldn't he? The SS was an elite military organization, they wanted to avoid persecution, and Castro wanted a better army. Makes sense to me. We did it, the British did it, the Russians did it, as did everyone else who could get their hands on nazi's willing to give out beneficial information and research..This news would surprise the Liberals and Progressive that support and admire the Castroit regime, but it don’t surprise most Cubans. In the interest of truthfulness, Operation Paperclip was set up to remove and refresh the Nazi pasts of 104 German rocket scientists, including Werner Von Braun himself.
Operation Paperclip was the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) program used to recruit the scientists of Nazi Germany for employment by the United States in the aftermath of World War II (1939–45). It was conducted by the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA), and in the context of the burgeoning Soviet–American Cold War (1945–91). One purpose of Operation Paperclip was to deny German scientific knowledge and expertise to the USSR,[1] the UK,[2] and (divided) Germany itself.
