Yeah, i mean, i think i understand what they're trying to do- develop the characters before the plot gets interesting- but they really need to do a better job of it.
The reverse-immigration thing could be pretty interesting. I'm skeptical that all of Mexico is safe, but it could be that some portions are safe.
I'm also kinda wondering why the US government was so pathetic in response. Didn't they figure out that all people turn ? Why wasn't the public warned ? I mean, that was one of the most disappointing plot holes in the first season, so i'm kinda hoping that they reconcile this somehow.
Well, if you remember from Season 1, Dr. Edwin Jenner from the CDC found out that everyone was infected, but then again, that was after the military cordon had been overrun. So it's possible that the government really didn't know that everyone was infected.
I don't think Mexico is 100% safe either, but from what I saw they've got it pretty secure. Looking at the city in the distance they have electricity, so that's a good sign at least. But they may have problems with immigration, because I'd assume that when people hear that Mexico is relatively safe, they'd want to head down there.
And I think FTWD could of done a
way better job with this pandemic outbreak.
First off, they didn't really show the downfall of LA like I was hoping to. And I at least wanted the US Military to secure the city and quell the riots, and establish a safe-zone, similar to Atlanta, as the military moved in and made it a place for people to evacuate. I actually wanted to see more of the military take charge, and I wanted to see news broadcasts, refugee centers, etc. etc. But we really didn't get any of that at all, which was something I was really hoping for.
And I think the U.S Government is still operational, I think they just abandoned trying to safe the major cities, like LA and Atlanta (At least the ones they couldn't secure). They may have secured some other cities as their strongholds, and are probably in control of military bases all throughout the country. Maybe the US Government will be something a bit like FEDRA in the Last of Us in the future.
