I’m going to go with the first two authors that interested me as a 3rd grade elementary school student with a penchant for reading and a grandmother steeped in 19th century literature.

Arthur Conan Doyle and his contemporary Bram Stoker.

They got me into “reading” and feeding my mind. To this day, if I am eating a bowl of cereal in the morning, I am reading the list of nutritional contents on the side of the box. I really can’t imagine not being able to read. Talk about torture.

I could list many more and many favorites from my state history. But if I go back to those authors and their works they were the first sparks that ignited my mind. Nana knew what she was doing too; just a few years later she threw Shakespeare at me!

Johnny Depp
Brad Pitt
Jennifer Aniston

Brueghel is awsome, gets to you to the bottom

What is your take on Hieronymus Bosch? He is super, sometimes I go between them 2, whom I like more

Hieronymus Bosch - Google Image Search

Bosch is more like Salvatore Dali, his paintings are full of strange monsters. He is interresting if you want to see the conception of heaven and hell at that time, and late medieval morality.

Brueghel is more "realist" I think, some of his paintings are like photographs of the late middle age. And in "netherlandish proverbs", you can see around 100 different proverbs in a single painting.

Jonathan Swift: Quite possibly the wittiest man who ever walked the earth, IMO. Any person who appreciates truly ingenius wit should read every single one of his essays.

Hypatia of Alexandria: A truly brilliant woman and she was witty in her own right. She once showed her menstral rags to a potential suitor in order to turn him down in a not-so-gentle manner. Now that's some funny **** right there! I'd LOVE to have met the woman who did something like that.

James Wright: Inventor of Silly Putty. 'nuff said.

Sun Tzu
Winston Churchill
Babe Ruth for the historical sports figure

Steve Austin (The Six Million Dollar Man) I wanted to be bionic so bad. Now that I have titanium screws holding my shoulder together.... it sux.

Mary Anne from Gilligan's Island....she was instrumental in awakening my inner porn star.

Ozzy Ozbourne... still giving hope to ugly, incoherent, talentless hacks after 500 years.

Alexander the Great
Brian Boru
