Funny, niether of those two had any legitimate reason to unmask Trump associates and neither worked for the FBI

Now there's confirmation of wiretaps on Trump associates prior to a election

It would seem the Russian collusion conspiracy nonsense was always just a cover.

So apparently Manafort's been wiretapped since 2014 for his role in the Ukraine elections, but a second warrant was issued as he joined the campaign to tap him for, as the article states and I quoted above, "concerns that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign".

Now I also most point-out that two of the three sources, "cautioned that the evidence is not conclusive."



So more stuff swirling around Manafort and the Trump campaign, but again no conclusive proof!

And if Manafort was indeed tapped in Trump Tower during the campaign, would it not seem to back-up Trump's claim that, "Obama tapped my wires"?

No conclusive proof that the special council is releasing at this time. The subject(S) have to be wondering this. The FISA court wouldn't issue a warrant for a wire tap without substantial proof of collusion to begin with.

Thats not necessarily true, FISA court rarely denies these request, plus the Obama administration routinely violated FISA minimization standards when it came to the unmaskings of Americans caught up in illegal upstream searches.

The FISA Court ruled in 2016 that the Obama administation not only illegally unmasked Americans caught up in illegal upstream searches, but that it under reported these violations to FISA.

You are missing the point. Manafort was Trumps campaign manager. Of course he communicated with Trump. What a great opportunity to listen in on campaign strategy. Arent you curious as to the evidence that led to the wire tap? Who ordered it? Why and when? Or do you not care because it harms Trump? Democrats are not above shady political dealings you know. The potential for abuse of this particular wire tap is immense.

In isolation of course it's a potential problem. What IMO makes it less so with Manafort is he was a long time target well before he joined the Trump campaign, well before there was such a thing as a Trump campaign.

And I expect we'll find out eventually what the issue was/is with Manafort, but as of now it's a pretty egregious leak that there even was a FISA warrant, so we're not likely to get the details of that for a while I wouldn't think.
