Euthanasia

Life is a gift from the gods. It's not a punishment, and a person should never be forced to live one moment longer than they care to.

Is there no scenario where you would find yourself willing to commit would is commonly referred to as a 'mercy killing'?

Probably not. Passive euthanasia is already pretty easy and highly effective.

Probable because unlike pets, humans are highly adaptable to changes in their physical condition.

Also, humans are very frail, and if homicide is being considered because of poor health, I'd recommend withdrawing life extending treatment first.

And we also need to remember that our pets don't give us impetus to euthanize them because we appear as beneficiaries in their wills. They also won't agree to consent to being euthanized because they've been made to feel guilty about the expense and bother they're causing their murderously ungrateful adult children.

Dogs have wills? You can claim pet insurance if you put down your cat? Not following.

Sure, if your pet is in pain because of an injury or illness and you have that animal insured. You can claim.
Also you can leave all your posessions in your will to your pet. Your kids may contest, but you can do it.

Never heard of the former. Not sure how leaving everything in your name to a pet you intend to kill before you die makes anyone rich though?
