Elon Makes Sense

"We won't have universal basic income. We'll have universal high income. In some sense, it'll be somewhat of a leveler, an equalizer."
- Elon Musk

“We’re running the most dangerous experiment in history right now, which is to see how much carbon dioxide the atmosphere . . . can handle before there is an environmental catastrophe.”
- Elon Musk

“The reality is gas prices should be much more expensive than they are because we’re not incorporating the true damage to the environment and the hidden costs of mining oil and transporting it to the U.S.”
- Elon Musk

“The reason we should do a carbon tax is because it’s the right thing to do. It’s economics 101, elementary stuff.”
- Elon Musk

“Solar power [with] batteries will be the primary (not exclusive) means of sustainable energy production"
- Elon Musk

“By definition we must move towards renewable energy, how can people argue against that? To argue that is to say that eventually we will run out of energy and die or civilization will collapse.”
- Elon Musk

“If you wanted to power the entire U.S. with solar panels, it would take a fairly small corner of Nevada or Texas or Utah; you only need about 100 miles by 100 miles of solar panels to power the entire United States. The batteries you need to store the energy, to make sure you have 24/7 power, is 1 mile by 1 mile. One square-mile. That's it.”
- Elon Musk

Very interesting quotes.

Begs the question as to why the right supports Elon.

"We need to appeal to whatever governments are out there to create the incentives to further the progress of electric vehicles."
- Elon Musk

"A carbon tax should be 2% of GDP."
- Elon Musk

"I think there are just too many smart people that are worried about climate change, and there's definitely a role for the government in that situation."
- Elon Musk

You could listen to Elon Musk, the problem becomes he changes his stance on pretty much everything. So when do you listen to him?

As to the current comment, I don't think any politician wants those things unless it is an election year.

They hate the man because they took away their hivemind platform that "protected" them from mean conservatives.
Across the board, most liberals want censorship. In fact, they demand it and protest when they can't have it.
You wouldn't know a liberal if he helped you tie your shoes and escorted you across the street.
Here's a hint- before you beak off on a political discussion board you ought to learn the basics of political ideology.

Of course the leftists will hate this because they're against any of it and falsely claim that he's a racist, fascist, yadda yadda yadda.

Hate it? I'm as liberal as all get-out and I couldn't care less what Musk thinks about anything. Why you lot worship at his feet is a mystery to everyone who doesn't.
Must be because he's rich, I guess.

All that boilerplate stuff listed by @phoenix2020 in Post #5 is all good stuff.
I don't have an issue with any of it.

If you were to look back through my posting history you would see that five or six years ago I was almost a Tesla EVANGELIST, which means I was almost an Elon Musk evangelist.
I urged my daughter to go take a job, ANY job, at any one of his companies, even if it meant sweeping floors or cleaning toilets, just to get in on the ground floor.
I dreamed of owning a Tesla. I kept dreaming that one day he would come out with a Tesla for the average working stiff, which never happened.

Then he began adding stupid crap to his Teslas which the average person doesn't need, and they became more and more expensive.
Then he opened his mouth and began blaming the world's problems on something he calls a woke mind virus, which makes no sense.
Then he began cozying up to Vladimir Putin.
Then he began going on Joe Rogan.
Then he bought Twitter.

I did not leave Elon Musk, Elon Musk left me, left me with my mouth agape saying WHAT THE ACTUAL **** is going through his mind right now, does he even still HAVE a mind?

Hey Elon, tell me you're making of fun of maga without saying you're making fun of maga.

"This is a battle to the death with the anti-civilizational woke mind virus."

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

You know he's trolling, right? When one of the world's smartest marketers starts sounding like your drunk uncle at Thankgiving, you know somebody's getting taken for a ride. There's no difference between Musk and trump (especially the part about figuring out how to monetize dumbassery), which is why the same people appear to like both of them.

If you actually believe in "freedom" then "secure borders" is absolute nonsense. Also we, didn't have any immigration restrictions for 100 years after the founding, and most of our border "infrastructure" (walls, fences) did not exist until the 1990s. Also ICE didn't exist before the establishment of DHS in the aftermath of 2001. "Secure borders" is not only impossible to enforce and undesirable from an economic and human standpoint, it flies in the face of any sort of "libertarianism."

Also you don't get to say "racism against any race is wrong" when you have a recent history of spouting anti Semitism, allowing Nazis (but booting leftists) off your platform, and engaging in white supremacist white replacement conspiracy theory nonsense.

He's trying to destroy labor unions and we feel that's a bad thing.

Everyone is for these things. He's just trying to appear normal.

Also "don't bankrupt America with spending" from someone who bought Twitter on a whim and then tanked it's value is wild.

"Don't bankrupt American with spending" while being one of the people who is severely undertaxed is also wild.

I feel like you're reading too much into it.

Elon Musk says what he says to capture the maga audience, while at the same time pissing off the left. Both serve to keep people engaged with Twitter. It's about clicks and view time, nothing more. Anyone believing that it's anything more is either engaging in misplaced hero worship or taking the bait. Either way Musk makes more money. No one ever said he was dumb. ;)
