OK, the word is out, the wake up call was issued - what has changed?
A lot more congressional oversight for one. And I don't believe the full ramifications of Snowden's actions are yet to be realized.
Incorrect. Most Americans expected the government was collecting meta data, but nobody knew the scope.

The word was already out. The only wake up call is for fans of Snowden, and it's servicing morning glory. Nothing has changed, because (as everyone already knew) collecting meta data is constitutional.
Sure, we can get all riled up for our boy Snowden. We can service him to our hearts content. OR we can be real and stop with the teenager-like worship of the adult's version of Twilight.
So is the entire federal department of education but that is accepted as well.
Ya know what I'm looking forward to? The Russian poster boy. When Putin executes him in the street, we'll see what the fanboies think about Putin's support of "whistleblowers".
Wait--you don't have faith in the new-and-improved Putin?
In other words, you got nothing. Why? Because only suckers give a crap about Snowden the traitor.
You know what? As soon as this goes away, like Wikileaks and Manning, some other attention whore is gonna bust chain of command to tell you something that you already know. Will you be a cheerleader once again? I bet so. That'll be funny. I wonder how many times you'll be suckered into that.
While it may of been known to people like me and you, it wasn't known to the masses.
We should not talk about the Snowden, but We should talk about the NSA. This organization turns into a giant monster like KGB. Zero transparency, zero accountability to Congress and completely incomprehensible problem which the organization must carry out. I have serious concerns that the NSA has transformed into a secret political police.
Argumentum ad ignorancum?

My view hasn't changed since it happened, I've just gotten more and more respect for him as time went along. He's a hero and deserves a medal and our undying admiration. Our government needs to be kept on a tight leash. They think that they can do whatever the hell they want and violate our constitution, and he brought those instances to light.
Defending the constitution and the American people at the peril of tyrannical leaders can never be treason.

The argument is that the overly broad search warrants are a violation of our rights, and a Federal judge has just acknowledged that.
One could say.
It would of never gotten the publicity if he would of gone through normal channel. For people to want to change anything, you have to really shock them into waking up. What Snowden did was the splash of cold water that Americans needed to wake up.

Nope, he ran off to Russia and took the secret info with him. He's threatening to release more that would damage US national interests. He probably entered an agreement with the Russians to share at least part of the info out of what he had.
None of that was necessary to the purpose of informing the American people and trashing the US government. He's not a hero.
You have no evidence. Stop pretending this is the USSR.
Ignorant hysterics.
