Yes.
If a draft were to be implemented today I would march straight to my local recruiter and sign up under a delayed entry program so I could finish my degree before deploying.

No. And I will leave this country before I will allow my children to fight; I already have provisions in place for that eventuality.

What kind of terrorism? Home grown? Terrorism abroad? I don't think the government can reinstate the draft using : "We want to fight terrorism" as a reason.

I'd probably sign up. However as soon as they do medical testing and find the high level of corticosteroids and opioid agonists in my system they'll probably turn me down

Terrorism terrorism.

You don't get to choose where you will go or what you will do beyond selecting an available MOS. Those decisions you will leave to your commanding officers, so trying to qualify your answer is futile. When you join the military you join with the understanding that you will do what you are told, serve how you are told to serve.

Back to the question: Would you fight?

Terrorism terrorism.

Hey... you do a great George W Bush imitation. :)

My point was the government has to be a little more precise when it comes to giving a reason for a draft. I doubt "We need to fight terrorism" counts.

What proper arguments the government needs to enact a draft are irrelevant to the question of the thread though. If, basically, Bush and Congress sat down and decided that a draft was necessary to fight the war on terror, would you fight?

Could they just decide that? All by themselves?

edit: oh, never mind... you said Bush and Congress.
I misread that as "Bush and Cheney".

:lamo

I would definately fight. I would like to hear more answers from liberals. Thanks.

dont let the door hit you or your spawn in the *** on the way out
and btw, there is no waiting to leave presently
why dont you take advantage of it
thx:2wave: buh bye

Well, they'd have to change the draft in order for me to qualify for it, being female and all...only males are currently included. Unless, of course, they started activating the IRR's in the next 2 1/2 years, since I'm part of that...though, being the primary caregiver to a little one, with no one that could really take over with that, I could easily be exempted.

I did my four years. I have no desire to do any more.

Depends what you mean by "needed to fight terrorism." Probably not.

I'd just say I was gay or something, since gay people are apparently unqualified to serve in the military. It'd be worth taking it up the *** to not have to die for Bush's idiocy.
