Does Jared Kushner’s massive debt make him a threat to national security?

This is one of the most amazing reaches, I've ever seen! :doh

I beg to differ..:)

One "Trumpie" once told me that Trump NEVER lies. He just "jokes" a lot. Another commented that the lady who got enough of a tax cut to pay for her Costco membership may have only worked FOUR hours a week, thus making her tax cut very significant.

Talk about being disconnected from reality.

Which they will be.

If this seat in Pennsylvania becomes a race, or worse than that, actually flips to blue, then the GOP is on for serious agony in November.
I'm aware of that seat, but haven't followed it.

Yeah, a GOP loss would be catastrophic, especially considering Trump went all-in on it. It would lead to more distancing from Trump in November.

But that is an interesting poll. Only 3 pts difference, but 4 percent are still undecided? We know undecideds often break for the outsider/non-incumbent.

But the real story to me, is the enthusiasms gap reported! 2:1, in favor of Dems? That alone may do it!

Well, if we're going to compare the lack of reality amongst Trump apologists, yeah we'll be going into uncharted territory!

Very possible.

One of the most comical aspects of the typical Trump voter is that most never knew much about Trump other than he had a popular reality television show.

I well remember when Trump was teetering on the verge of bankruptcy and no lending institution in this country would loan him money. He had to resort to very "questionable" tactics to keep from becoming insolvent.

You have been around DB much longer than me. As such, you experienced the Obama years and what I can only imagine was "humorous" attacks to say the least. That said, I will defer to your experience on such matters.

I suspect his security clearance problems are about more than just personal debt issues.

Quite possibly. Back when I transitioned from a regular administrative Army position to working embassy billets I had to get my security clearance upgraded from SECRET to TOP SECRET I had about $8,000 in debt, quite a bit for a junior enlisted guy earning less than $1,500/month. And some of it was seriously over due. By credit was pretty bad to say the least.

The only way they said they would even consider my application was to contact all my creditors and set up an automatic payment plan with all of them that would have me debt free as soon as possible. And I had to get letters from all of them confirming as much and submit those letters with my application. And frankly, the only reason I think I was given that opportunity was because at the time they were having problems filling those particular billets.

And that was just $8,000. At a low level embassy job.

It makes perfect sense. If somebody is deeply in debt they are far more susceptible to being bribed. It is something foreign intelligence services look for when targeting people.

Anyway, my point is deep debt CAN be sufficient enough reason to deny a clearance. But that doesn’t mean that is necessarily the case here, of course.

And this for both Trump & Kushner, may be an area that brings them big problems with Mueller.

Exactly!

It's not just the possibility of bribery, but also the possibility of blackmail that's the problem. And that's what made Rob Porter's problem so acute: He had free access to nation's deepest secrets, yet was hiding wife-beating from the public. A perfect candidate for blackmail!

And hopefully without traversing too far into conspiracy theories, this is exactly why it's important to find if Trump has any contacts with Russia or Russians. He too can be at risk, if he did any grey-area business with them in the past.

President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner filed a new addendum to his personal financial disclosure form last month that reveals previously undisclosed business interests, according to a new report.

Talking Points Memo obtained a Jan. 3 letter from Kushner to White House deputy counsel Stefan Passantino that shows Kushner added new corporate positions to his disclosure form. In the letter, Kushner also discloses several LLCs that were part of previously reported assets.

The form also included new disclosures related to his wife Ivanka Trump’s stake in the ownership of Trump Old Post Office, LLC., according to the document obtained by TPM.

At what point does the Boy Blunder routine fail to cut it?

Umm....as a nation we're sitting on 20 some Trillion in debt. Does that make us a threat to ourselves?

You can't even work at bank if you have a lot of debt.

Trump has been careless with natioinal security. He was warned that Flynn had issues but he ignored the warnings. He let a wife beater who could easily be trapped by a Russian agent, have full access to all our national secrets.

surprised his old family friend bibi didn't have one of his rich political connections take care of javanka after they were able to get the capital moved to jerusalem
that should have been worth something
