Do you consider yourself "woke" (tolerant, open-minded, progressive, pro-science) ?

Yes. For over 50 yrs. As opposed to the oblivious. The cons are oblivious, incognizant of the truth, pretending what is woke to be what it is not, so that they react wrongly to what they manufactured from their own lies.

I feel I am tolerant, open-minded, progressive, pro-science. I'm afraid I never heard the term Woke, until it was already a bad word. Mostly I hear It as an accusation from the right. I'd like to think I fit the definition "alert to injustice and discrimination in society, especially racism:" But I don't self identify as "Woke".
 
I like to think of myself that way but the term "woke" makes me crazy. The right throw it around like the term"socialism". They don't have a clue what either word means.
 
If a “woke” person says that we need to destigmatize pedophilia, you must nod in agreement to also be “woke”.

That is true, yet not limited to those on “the right”. The OP asserted that being “woke” included being progressive.

Not when I know exactly where they come from and why they were designed and disseminated.

Those things aren’t “natural” and therefore aren’t actual opinions or beliefs.

Not when there are contracts and bills and pay stubs involved.

There are people on both sides who are intolerant and anti-science. Shall we ignore the fact you claim that the word sex only applies to intercourse and it doesn't apply to being male or female? Is that pro-science?

Were the people threatening to rape and kill JK Rowling tolerant?

I took it to mean seeking change for the better, striving for continuous improvement not being happy with the status quo....I didn't take it in the political sense. However, if the OP meant in the political sense then that's not me.

Nah. We actually shake our heads when your propagandists find the next person who says something outrageous and tells you that’s what everybody on the left believes.

I don’t believe everybody on the right thinks the election was stolen. That’s why I call those who do Talk Radio Conservatives, to distinguish them fro regular conservatives AND identify the vector by which they came to those beliefs.

Woke to me it seems to fit more of the category of a finger wagging church lady.

Leaving the pro-science on the sidelines for a moment, the harsh truth is today's "woke" cancel culture progressivism is neither tolerant or open-minded. Rather today's progressivism is hate filled, willing to marginalize, and vilify for saying *anything* contrary to their authoritarianism, intentions, and wants from governance.

To suggest otherwise is a blatant lie.

That's not what it means. It's about oppression, being offended, and other made-up problems.
 
Like I said a term that is just being thrown around by the right as a derogatory slur against the left. Most don't know what it really means they just use it because, DeSantis, Abbott and the rest of the RW politicians, who haven't any policy to run on, turn to culture wars which are further stirred up by the likes of Fox. They want to say it is to own the Libs but it's not....it's to own and control the minds of their RW base....and it works brilliantly.

I am indeed tolerant, open-minded, progressive, and pro-science, but "woke" is what conservatives call me when they want to insult me without getting reprimanded by the site.

Which, among the “woke” traits listed by the OP, are not political (i.e. calling for government action) in nature?

The idea that someone opposed to mask (which includes a nearly worthless single layer of cloth) mandates are “pro-science” is simply not so.

The idea that sex (for purposes of participation in women’s sports) is determined by a personal desire, rather than a biological state of being, may be open-minded, yet is not tolerant or pro-science.

Attempts to limit gun efficiency and/or magazine capacity are not open-minded or tolerant, but they are touted as being progressive views.

Progressives typically want more government regulation and/or control (usually at the federal government level) and less personal freedom. While all progress is the result of change, not all change results in progress.
