The taxpayers of Florida win. It costs much less money to fly them to Martha's Vineyard than to house and feed people while they get on their feet, or pay for education, healthcare, etc. Massachusetts also has a higher unemployment rate than Florida, so hopefully it will be easier to find a job.

How have conservatives gotten to the point where, even though in America we have a lack of workers willing to take jobs, two jobs open for every applicant, and yet conservatives think the way to make America greater is to build a wall and keep willing job applicants out.

We don't have enough workers, and we are 1.5 million units short of the housing we need.

There's all our new workers on the other side of the border. What is the matter with us that we don't get it that these two problems will cancel one another out.

Let them in, let them work. Let them pay taxes and pay into the Social Security system the boomers need. This should be a no-brainer.

We've got construction companies with huge backlogs and they can't get enough workers. The whole thing is so ridiculous!

If they're looking for asylum, I read today those appointments are now 8 years away for many. Our systems are getting just a tiny bit overloaded with 2000 people per day coming in, just in the Del Rio sector alone.
So they have years to enjoy where they are before they have any reason to think about transportation for potential asylum appts. I can't imagine Martha's Vineyard will want tent cities, so these people should be very, very well taken care of there. The "lucky ones", don't you think? Much nicer than the situation in Brownsville, TX where they are dealing with overwhelming numbers.
