Huh. I guess I'd be considered right-wing / liberal in Europe, because neoliberalism is pretty awesome. Pro-trade, pro-immigration, pro-capitalism with a welfare state, etc.The term "liberal" that US-Americans use for leftist is NOT used this way here in Europe.
A "liberal" in Europe is most often seen as a member/voter of a neo-liberal party, which tend to be rightwing.
For example the UK Lib Dems or the Dutch VVD or the German FDP or the Austrian NEOS are all "liberal" parties, but center-rightwing.
Especially on the economy, but more centrist among social topics.
So, especially because of their pro-business-without-many-regulations approach (which means curtailed employee rights !), they are not seen as leftists.
So, be careful Americans if you ever are in Europe !
If you are a progressive Democrat, tell Europeans you are a leftist and not a "liberal".
If you are a Biden Democrat, you are a liberal yeah.
If you are a Manchin Democrat, tell Europeans that you are a Republican !
Oh no, it still means the same thing. We just think that neo-liberals are on the left here because we have no true economically leftist political party. The term "liberal" that US-Americans use for leftist is NOT used this way here in Europe.

It's hard to avoid the label of "gullible fool" after accepting and continuing to promote the idea that the only way an unpopular incumbent could lose was through fraud, and then continue to double down and present no evidence.Weak.
Smarter than conservatives.Curious what adjectives Democrats feel best describe themselves.
