I was worried that Biden would be an HRC 2.0. There's many similarities, including his laying-low while Trump takes political hits. But as I look at the numbers, I'm starting to think Biden might be on to something.

Biden's poll numbers vs Trump are constantly improving, Trump's negative approval disparity is constantly increasing, competitive GOP Senate seats are leaning Bluer, and the Generic Congressional Ballot keeps edging further Dem.

A tact of laying low makes me nervous as hell, but it does seem to be working for now. As is stated above in my OP, "Trump is running against Trump". I'd add, "And it seems he's losing!".

Well Biden is going to have to talk eventually, there are the debates and such. And Biden will gaffe it up, poor dude can't help it. But for the time being, it does behoove him to lay low. Trump's against the ropes and has to deal with a pandemic and racial unrest and he's shown himself to be a piss poor leader. So the more Trump is front and center with his failures, the better it is for Biden.

The DNC Elites don't care about "lane". They only care about who they can get elected. Yeah...they know a socialist won't cut it. They also know that demented Uncle Joe won't cut it, either. They also don't care what the Dem rank and file think. They'll call the shots.

There is absolutely no comparison between Biden and HRC other than the fact that both have years of experience in government.

Biden is not being investigated by the FBI. Throughout the entire 2016 campaign, voters knew Clinton was being investigated by the FBI. She was even forced to make a statement on national television at a FBI hearing.

Vladimir Putin wanted Trump to be our next President, and his government hacked into the DNC computers. The result: a daily four-month barrage of information released to the public that was extremely damaging to the Clinton campaign. That is not likely to happen to Biden.

Clinton had enormous baggage to haul around during her campaign. Her nomination was an error by the DNC. Biden is pretty clean, very little baggage except for a habit of making gaffes.

If Biden is not being investigated by the FBI, then what happened to Clinton can't happen to him. Eleven days before the election, the FBI director, James Comey, reopened the investigation into Clinton. Her strong lead in the polls melted away during the following week.

A couple of days before the election, Comey had a "sorry about that," it was all a big mistake, and he closed the investigation again. As we all know, Trump won the election.

So, there are enormous differences between Biden and HRC. Trump won't luck out again.

Besides, after 3 1/2 years of the Trump administration, he is so bad his followers ignore him. They are unable to defend him. Trump is that bad.

What's the rush? There is over four months to go before the election. In the meantime, Trump is winning the election for him.

How do we know that? Not even Trump's followers can support him. They largely avoid Trump, and they are unable to defend Trump in threads critical of him.

Trump's followers love talking about Joe Biden, though.

To you and me, what he’s been doing from the start hasn’t looked like anything special. But when you consider that he was always well ahead of his Democratic competitors, and that he’s well ahead of Trump now, eventually you have to say, “Huh. Maybe this guys gets something about campaigning the rest of us aren’t getting.”
