Dems boo adding God and Jeruselum

Let the debacle continue:

DNC's Wasserman Schultz, Gaspard cancel interviews amid platform debacle - POLITICO.com

Democratic National Committee chiefs Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Patrick Gaspard cancelled interviews with local media outlets tonight, amid controversy surrounding the party's decision to reintroduce "God" and "Jerusalem" to the platform.

Jon Ralston, host of the Las Vegas-based "Face To Face" news program, told POLITICO that he was sitting in the chair waiting for a 2:45 p.m. PT (5:45 p.m. ET) interview with Gaspard when he was told that his guest had cancelled, without explanation.

Blair Miller of WSOC TV, ABC's Charlotte, N.C., affiliate, also tweeted that Wasserman Schultz cancelled her interview with him, without explanation. "After my Romney intv today, we were planning to interview @DWSTweets live," he wrote. "However, she did not show up. Her staff not answering calls."

DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse did not respond to a request for comment regarding the cancellations, which came after reports that the party had put "God" back on the platform and affirmed Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Wasserman Schultz went on CNN tonight and denied reports of “discord” with the White House over the party’s decision to include the terms, claiming the party had "a two-thirds vote" on the issue.

”Did you really think that it was two-thirds? It seemed like a lot of people felt like it wasn’t quite there,” CNN's Brianna Keilar asked.

“It was absolutely a two-thirds,” Wasserman Schultz said.

After the interview, CNN host Anderson Cooper said Wasserman Schultz's version of events was "an alternate reality."

The gift that keeps on giving.....

Why?.........

The Republican Party has been consistently engrossed with the religious right for a while now. Even though it's common to paint the Demorcatic Party as full of militant atheists that hate everything Christian, but I've been tossed around enough to know a significant portion of the Democrats are religious enough that an atheist like me isn't always welcome.

So I like to see the Democratic Party go more Secular.

But that's just me.

so what? he orchestrated both moves..taking it out.. putting it back without the Hamas part...

are you trying to attempt to make a point? ..

Obama is finished..

I wasn't aware the President did that, do you have a source?

I don't understand what people's hang up is with any god. No one in either party is making citizens worship a certain god, making citizens pray to a certain god, or even making any citizens acknowledge that any god is real. They are simply acknowledging a vague mention of a god (with no indicator of which one) with their own speech. If those citizens don't like the fact that most people believe in a god, move on. Treat it like any other policy issue you disagree with. Lord knows (pun intended) that both parties are holding their noses and looking past plenty of issues already. What's the big hang up with looking past this one? It would seem to me that it would be one of the easiest issues to look past considering that it has no influence on any policies/the economy/national defense/etc. The only issue I could see it holding any weight with is SSM.

If those people are truly sick of fairy tales then why are they still supporting Obama?

Because the notion of a First Cause is ridiculous, whereas Obama is going to lower the oceans :)
 I mean, duhhhh!

You gotta see this pack of lies from Wasserman Shultz to believe it:

Wasserman Schultz On Jerusalem Being Left Out Of Platform: "A Technical Oversight" | RealClearPolitics

Now watch Anderson Cooper in part 2 describe her as being in an "Alternate Universe" and the rest of the CNN panel call her on her dishonesty:

Anderson Cooper: Wasserman Schultz In An "Alternate Universe" | RealClearPolitics

:lamo Anderson Cooper said she was in an alternate universe?

:lamo Oh man, I can just see him saying that :lamo

This is great

Its pretty funny that they cant get out of their own way. First they foolishly omit the God and Jerusalem part...because...no matter what that isnt going to play in the big tent. Then...they have a shamvote to put it back in...making them look even MORE foolish...and then they boo the results, completing the trifecta.

And for the record...I watched the video...there is NO WAY that was a 2/3 vote. Gosh...I wonder why they bothered even having a vote if it wasnt going to count?

Ron Paul delegates feel exactly the same way. See at minute 1:40

Stay classy, guys. Stay classy.

Freakin' hypocrites. They claim they're the "tolerant" party, but oooooh doggy! they sure don't tolerate religion (well...except Islam).

Is this you staying classy? lol

Just as certain overzealous religious types can be annoying, so too can 'atheists' be. To be honest...I dont know of too many people (liberal or conservative, democrat or republican) that care too much that you are an atheist...provided you arent a dick about it.

Whether you agree or disagree that it should or should not have been there, the post revelation two step was a hoot.

Some people don't get it.

'god' was in there before - and no one voted to take it out. It should have stayed in *because* no one voted to take it out.

They took it out anyway - maybe a typo but maybe not - none the less - it shouldn't have been voted *back in* because it never should have been *out* to begin with . . . so it was pointless.

The Jerusalem thing - well - I just won't touch that.

Regardless - the people spoke and should have been listened to the first time.

Way to go Ron Paul supporters! Aint nothin wrong with a raucous caucus. A little different booing Romney/Paul vs booing God/Jews...but hey...if it makes you feel better...

Personally...if Paul had any balls and character (as with the Paul supporters) he would have remained and fought as a Libertarian. As it is he is simply a marginalized koo...

hey...wait a second...that was a Puerto Rican GOP party charwoman!!!

I never said I was. :)

Honestly though...after listening to the clip again, it seems most of the boos were because the "nays" overtook the "yea's" even though the "yea's" got it. So I guess it's not so much the booing because of the religion haters, but that the religion haters got hosed.

Well the vote wasn't really about Ron Paul, it was a vote for a rules change that would allow the guy with the most delegates to appoint the delegates in each state (or something of that matter) which in effect, would negate any reason for delegates at all. They'd be all homogenized into 100% support for whomever got the most delegates no matter how small the percentage they captured.

Anywhoo... The vid I posted wasn't to point out God or Ron Paul or whatever... it was just to show that the GOP did the same thing about ignoring the verbal Yea's and Nay's and doing what they wanted to anyway. So what's the point in holding a vote?

Yeah, I kind of felt that way as well.

So because they don't wan't Religion written in their platform like that you go all the way to "they are religion haters."

I mean, do you guys even care about debate or is it just all for throwing rotten tomatoes as straw men 100% of the time?

Re: Does it sound like the Ayes had it to you?

I'm glad they put it back in. 1) It adds more to their argument when you put your positions to something humans cannot touch 2) You don't need to alienate a core group of voters with something a damn large number of Americans support another country on.

Yeah, I kind of felt that way as well.

It's infuriating work busting ass third party style. I worked on the Nader campaign and you bust your ass so hard, follow all the rules, do EVERYTHING right and then it goes all for naught because a lawsuit is brought against you to negate your work... All of which is dropped after the election is done. Or your work is overseen and torn apart by a Dem or Repub appointed judge or electoral commission of the state. It is hair pulling, punch your own face kind of fury.

I think Ron had the idea that there are only two vehicles to choose from so try and rework one of the two rather than trying to enter a new one that the race coordinators would never allow on the track in the first place.

Gotcha...so...in your eyes its all the same thing.

Ive never been to a party convention before. My daughter has. It gets quite rowdy from what I understand. I dont think anyone would deny that either party has a machine in place that understands, presses for and eventually gets what it wants. Its why each party 'gets' the candidates they end up with usually. Still somewhat different in quelling a handful of rowdy Ron supporters as opposed to overruling easily half the voting audience...3 times...because you know you done ****ed up by omitting God and Jerusalem from your platform. Different perspectives though.

As a libertarian, I would imagine our caucus reps will be too stoned to care to much about such things. Change it? Sure dude...whatever...just pass the nachos...

That's fine, just don't be a selfish libertarian and be willing to implement enough socialism that will allow you to pass the doobie on the left hand side to the Green Party.

You will never understand Libertarians. We actually believe in NECESSARY government and would let you be as socialist as you want to be (in fact we would really like to watch that and see how it plays out). We would SHARE our stash by CHOICE and bonus...you could grow your own **** in your back yard.

Isn't it kind of already playing out side by side in Vermont/New Hampshire to a degree?

We do. We're hippies.
