Democrats keep the Senate

If the GOP takes the House, its gonna be a shit show.
 
An expanded majority gives the ruling party more flexibility. You don't need every party member's vote.

Pretty funny that Kevin McCarthy debased himself to get control of this ragtag mob.
It's even funnier if he doesn't win the speakership.
Funnier yet, if the Dems keep the HOR and he's reduced to being nothing but a Trump toadie.

The horrible returns for them have weakened the king make, Trump. At full strength, I was not convinced Trump would allow McCarthy the Speakership. Now Trump is weakened, the process would be even more chaotic with profound repercussions.

I agree it makes some difference), but the increment from 49 to 50, which involves control of the Senate, seems MUCH, MUCH greater than the increment from 50 to 51.

That could happen, particularly with a weakening MAGA influence.
But I'm not certain how many centrist GOPers there actually are.
 
GOP should be thankful they didn't lose 3 or 4 senate seats.

Perhaps there will be some mediocre work done in the next two years. Certainly, keep social security and Medicare required funding rather than discretionary... ✌️

It's an amusing thought. The House can appoint anyone Speaker, it doesn't have to be an elected Representative.

It would be a hilarious crapshow, but I don't think this country needs any more crap.

Don't worry, Trump wouldn't last long. Once he realizes the Speaker can't have members expelled from the chamber, he'd lose interest.
 
Disgusting. Hopefully this is a message to Trumpublicans that they need to go quietly and endorse better candidates and disavow the orange one.

And that difference means didely if the GOP has the House. The House plans on defaulting on the debt because that is what they do.

MTG is demanding that the Freedom Caucus run the show or they will deny him the votes for Speaker and he is going to need everyone to get to 218. The House will be working the MAGA agenda with stuff like fund the wall or no debt ceiling increase and investigating Hunter and impeaching Biden. There will be nothing of value done in the House. You will see. They better get the Ukraine aid package passed before January too. MAGA loves them some Putin.
