Democrats are going after Pizza Ovens

You think banning wood burning pizza ovens will change the overall air quality or lack of in america? I don't know about where you live but here in florida when a big tract of land is cleared, several huge piles of trees are burned, enough for thousands of pizza ovens.

Like I said banning wood burning pizza ovens is like draining the oceans with a party cup, it makes no sense.

Again, this is idiotic. I celebrated by firing up my smoker, I prefer hickory with a smidge of fruit wood in the mix, apple, cherry and sometimes pecan. Are all bbq places going to be shut down? Charcoal companies put out of business, no more grilling or smoking in the summer? Unamerican, blasphemous, totally unacceptable.

As usual we tackle 'problems' from the ground up. Force the least of the offenders to pay the biggest costs, shut them down while corporate america pollutes until their little hearts are content and we're worrying about pizza ovens...****ing ridiculous.

I use an upright pit boss propane smoker. I think my next one might be an electric pellet smoker where the heat doesn't fluctuate like it does in my upright.

Just made some ribs the other day, turned out wonderfully.

I have a 22" Weber bullet that I bought scratched for $250. The Ooni pizza ovens look interesting.

Sigh.

They aren't banning pizza ovens. They're requiring less than 100 of them to get pollution scrubbers.

Those businesses are operating multiple ovens at least 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. So yeah, it adds up.

It's not just about emissions, it's also about the health of the employees and people in the immediate neighborhood, who are exposed to the chemicals.

Further, this is just one tiny rule change. But it's by making a variety of changes that NYC has started to reduce emissions.

How does Florida doing things that are terribly wrong mean that no one else should take action? That's like saying "because there are homicides in Gary, Indiana, we should fire all the police in Sarasota."

It's a workplace issue, not an environmental issue. Does the company clearing land require their workers to stand in the smoke?

When I was young there were still plenty of mom and pop businesses and one of them on saturdays would go from bread making to pizza making and their tomato pies were excellent. My other half who grew up in tom's river nj had never had tomato pie until a cousin's reunion of mine. She opened the lid of the cold pie and went, where's the cheese as she turned up her nose until she finally tried it and fell in love and it was cold. I personally always try a plain cheese pie from a new place to judge it. Both the best cheese and tomato pies for me were in philly.
