For credentialed journalists. Not the public at large.Yes it was. It was a press briefing.

I guess the argument is if you don't say pretty please before you start to go into the redress of your grievances, it doesn't count as free speech,Of course it is.
Government officials do not have a right to not be interupted.
Americans fo have a right to speak their minds to goveenment officials, interupt, ask questions, even rudly.
Take a civics class!
I intend to play out my opposition on November 3, 2026 when I vote blue in a red state. Only wish the No Labels movement was an actual viable third party. I see no respect nor quarter given from either major party toward the other.Perhaps so. But I believe that Democratic governors and Presidential Administrations can and should treat the Republican opposition with the same level of courtesy shown by the Trump Administration.
Hahahahahah!
Babylon Bee is a satire site. It's mocking the idea that he assaulted officers. But there you are, citing it.
18 U.S. Code § 351 - Congressional, Cabinet, and Supreme Court assassination, kidnapping, and assault; penalties

In a prosecution for an offense under this section the Government need not prove that the defendant knew that the victim of the offense was an individual protected by this section.

Yes, anyone who believes this was anything other than a political stunt designed to get such a reaction is an idiot. He even had his own film crew with him."A spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security said that Padilla “chose disrespectful political theater and interrupted a live press conference without identifying himself or having his Senate security pin on as he lunged toward Secretary Noem.”
I've read your previous comments to the same effect. While I understand it, I don't see the strategy as a solution. But then, I presently do not see any solution. Only a hope that the next generations to take power do better. That is all well and good, Along Came Jones. I intend only to vote for people who say that they will act as progressive blue MAGA.
No more "When they go low, we go high!" civility politics B.S.
I want politicians who will say "When they go low, we kick them in the face, and we keep on kicking until they learn not to go low. If people want to behave like snakes, they get the boot."
He had every right to be there. For credentialed journalists. Not the public at large.
So, she can just order the police to manhandle anyone for simply asking a question?
Holding a press conference suddenly makes someone king of whatever building they hold it in?
Indeed.Yes, anyone who believes this was anything other than a political stunt designed to get such a reaction is an idiot. He even had his own film crew with him.![]()
The Senator staged this bit of political theater, the SS, not knowing who he was and charged with protecting the Sec. restrained and detained him briefly, then released.shrug...
That Senator just found out about FAFO.
So, you're one of those guys . . . oh, well.He had every tight to be there.
You love authoritarianism though dont you. Perhaos you would prefer Russia
Yes. A patriotic American.So, you're one of those guys . . . oh, well.
Unlike you, I don't question that.Yes. A patriotic American.
Of course it is.

Yeah here is the problem.
I dont know if she was fielding questions yet or at all.
From an objective stand point he shouldnt have done that. I get the motivation behind it, but its not gonna work how he wants it.
He wasn't arrested. The arrest was over the top.
Isn't this what happened? You just escort him out,
but he was fighting some so I get it, but still.
Exactly what did happen, apparently.Detain and just toss him.
In the end this whole thing was stupid and nothing was really accomplished because then Iran was attacked.
Being fair and decent has never worked against a mafia.Yeah here is the problem.

The strategy is promoting good things over evil things, or at the very least mitigating harm. If you get genuinely wicked people out of power or shunt them aside, then decent people can actually come up with and effectuate solutions that better the lives of the American people as a whole.I've read your previous comments to the same effect. That is all well and good, Along Came Jones. But I have only witnessed Democratic abstemiousness. Nothing comparable to what the Trump Administration has done. Personally, I intend only to vote for people who say that they will act as progressive blue MAGA.

I guess you miss Joe and his chaos?

I hope your screed is a joke. The only way the next generation will be better is for good people of all stripes to launch a crusade against right-wing evil as represented by the Republican Party and make it known that corruption, racism, xenophobia, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and delighted cruelty against the poor and downtrodden shall be met with overwhelming force at every level from the Federal on down. I want anyone's being called a Republican to be made a pejorative slur to be denied and a source of moral outrage in the same way that being called a Nazi or a Stalinist is (or was). Any government employee who refuses to pledge to pursuing progressive public policy should be terminated immediately, and anyone who is found to have voted Republican since 2021 onwards should be immediately fired and blacklisted from working in the Federal Executive Branch.
