Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla is forcefully removed from Noem’s news conference and handcuffed

I like to be accurate... so biased will work just fine.

... and I have shown multiple videos...

They'll never admit they're wrong. Just like when the video evidence clearly showed that crazy Congresswoman shoving and throwing punches at the ICE agents a couple of weeks ago. Even when the proof is right in front of their eyes, DENY DENY DENY!

Regardless, I am pretty sure both Kristi Noem and the secret service who accosted him knew full well who the **** he is.

I didn't say that nobody knew who the **** he ****ing was for ****ing ****s sake... LOL

Relax with the tough guy shit.

I said he did not Identify who he was. Maybe those security guys did not know who he was. Prove they did... otherwise? *shrug*

Trying to claim otherwise is vacuous and assinine.

Trying to claim that you know what they know is vacuous and assinine.

Is that the path you want to take? Because it is quite telling if so.

The partisan hack bug has you, mate. Let go of the hate...

What claim did I make?
That its normal for people to be strong armed at a presser when they ask a question particularly a Senator
Okay, now go ahead and quote the post where I made that claim.

We both know you won't, of course, because I never made that claim at all. So typical...

Putting one's hands on another, forcing him to the floor, and then handcuffing a person who interrupts another who is speaking is NOT an appropriate response.
Incorrect.

When someone is somewhere they aren’t supposed to be in a secure facility, this is exactly what would happen to any of us. As a Senator, he knows security protocols. He violated them on purpose knowing this would happen because he’s a desperate attention-whore.

And that’s giving him the benefit of the doubt, because the only alternative is that he didn’t know the above facts, which would make him a bumbling moron.

You've not proved your claim that Padilla was manhandled, tackled to the ground, and handcuffed because "he was inappropriately approaching the podium". The "word" of this administration isn't credible.. Remember, trump is a documented serial liar, and vance has said that making things up in order to prove a point is acceptable.

That you want to - perhaps need to - believe that Padilla brought this on himself is understandable. But your desire to believe this doesn't make it so.
Did Padilla interrupt Noem's press conference?
Did he move toward Noem as she spoke while announcing, "I'm Senator Padilla. I have a question?"
Did the Secret Service know, in fact, that he was Senator Padilla?
And even if they did, what would they know about his intentions as he moved closer to the podium?

The two stories I quoted report what Republicans say happened, what Democrats say happened, and what reporters present at the event saw happen. Considering the times in which we live I do not fault the Secret Service response at all.

Let's flip this. Suppose House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries gave a press conference denouncing Trump's federalization of the National Guard. While he spoke, Senator Ben Sasse (R NE) showed up, moved close to the podium saying "I'm Senator Sasse. I have a question for the minority leader." What do you suppose the security response would be to the interruption and the proximity?

Thank you for showing that none of my quotes made the claim that Clara attributed to me.

Apparently you DO my work for me after all.

Much appreciated! 🙋🏾‍♂️

You have yet to prove that Padilla lunged toward noem.

AND, again, quoting something said by a member of the trump administration is not sufficient.

So, why are you still posting to this thread? We all know you approve of the heavy-handedness of the security unit's handling (literally as well as figuratively) of Padilla's asking noem and inconvenient question. What more do you want?

Of course, your quote in Post #519 fits the bill re the claim @ClaraD said you had made. That you deny this fact is not at all a surprise.

Incorrect.

Incorrect. She said that I claimed it's normal for people to be accosted when asking questions at a press conference.

My claim was that it's normal for people to be accosted in secure buildings when they enter an area in which they don't have clearance to be present.

Not even remotely the same argument.

You're making more bad faith posts here....tsk tsk.... 🤷🏾‍♂️👎🏾

You have yet to prove that Padilla lunged toward noem.

Incorrect. Multiple videos showed him pushing and shoving and lunging toward her.

The evidence is very clear. You should watch it.

Getting personal against other posters is a sure sign that you realize you don't have a rational argument.

I'm still posting because your fractured feedback is entertaining. For instance, you claim I have yet to prove Padilla lunged toward Noem. Here's the thing. I never claimed such. In fact, in a reply to @Manc Skipper I wrote "Lunging was Noem's hyperbolic characterization."

Getting tough to take your challenges seriously. Entertaining, though.

That is one way to "win". Only accept evidence from one side. BINGO!

LOL

He could of been charged with obstruction of an official proceeding, since he was impeding a press conference.

This is basically the limit of Noem's capabilities as a human being.

If someone doesn't perform as you demand, have them thrown on the ground and cuffed. Aside from that she does cop cosplay.

The only clip that matters is Padilla's interview. That's what he said.

It's a federal building. He had a meeting two doors down and while waiting, he decided to listen to Noem. After hearing what he claims were lies, he attempted to speak up. Then he was manhandled and handcuffed.

I don't know what clips you've seen, but they're lying to you.

Noem said the military isn't leaving LA until she liberates the city from the socialists. The fascism is in front of our faces.

That's the point. Noem knows who he is. This was deliberate. I'm guessing Padilla is one of those socialists Noem wants to eliminate.

He decided to listen?!? He intentionally tried to interrupt the press conference as soon as he went through the door.

A US Senator - and one from the state in which the presser was being held, and whose city is the topic of the presser - entered the room, identified himself, and asked a question.

That's what happened.

If you want to assert that tackling the man who was known to be one of California's Senators, manhandling him, forcing him to the ground and then handcuffing him is appropriate behavior for all trump press conferences, say so.

Barging into a press conference doesn’t give him special privileges to ask questions, until she asks for questions. He is not in charge of the press conference.

Thanks for reminding us of that!

Could be noem and trump tried to provoke some kind of reaction from non-MAGAs in California.

Could be noem and trump knew Padilla was scheduled to be down the hall in that building at that time, and could be that's why the venue - 15 miles west from downtown LA - was selected for the press conference.

Nonsense, some wild conspiracy theory you pulled out of your backside.

She’s not his boss, he’s hers as part of the oversight of her job

Separation of powers, he got justifiably removed because of his behavior. If he wants oversight, he can schedule her for a hearing. He’s in her territory.

This wasn't a reporter. (And I'd bet that reporters ask questions whenever they want.)

Back to my point: the Senator's asking a question during noem's press conference doesn't require the over-reaction of security's tackling him to the ground and handcuffing him.

This was primarily a press conference for reporters, not an oversight committee. As you noticed the news reporters were quiet. When’s she’s finished, she opens the floor for questions when’s she’s good and ready.

He was ESCORTED to her press conference by FBI or someone from HHS! They even opened the door for him to go in, he didn't even have to open the door for himself. As a U.S. Senator, it is his JOB to do oversight, do you understand that? He was doing what he's supposed to do, and legally entitled to do. He was doing his job of conducting oversight, and oversight includes asking hard questions. That's his job.

You don’t get to do oversight any time you want. Doesn’t mean you get to interrupt an official proceeding doing her job to do yours. It’s called scheduling.
