Defensive gun use thread

Do you employ such rationality when deciding to reside somewhere ?

Yes, I do. It's a function involved in making rational decisions.

You say nothing about the homicidal nature of US police
And no, that is far from "amazing".
Pretty much every single officer involved shooting involves a perpetrator who also has a gun or other potentially deadly weapon and is threatening the officer. The percentage of criminals with guns in this country FAR outweighs the percentage in say, England. You are being gaslighted by the MSM to believe that there are SO many unarmed victims of unjustified police shootings when in fact there are very few of them when you take into account all of the contacts police have with citizens every day.

How about this:

2014:
US police killed 1100 people
Canadian police killed 14 people
British police killed 1 person (same as in 2013 Btw)
German police killed 0 people (same as in 2013)
Icelandic police killed 0 people (in fact they've only every killed 1 person ... EVER)
Chinese police killed 12 people (with a population 4.5 times larger than the USA)

Let that sink in. Law enforcement in the US killed 92 times more people than a country with nearly 1.4 billion people

"...from 2010 through 2014, there were 4 fatal police shootings in England, which has a population of about 52 million. By contrast, Albuquerque, N.M., with a population 1 percent the size of England’s, had 26 fatal police shootings in that same time period..."

You actually believe the Chinese police only killed 12 people??? In a communist police state??? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Oh HELL YEAH!!!!

This is a perfect example. Armed robbers walk into a store, if no-one else has guns, they take some corporate property and leave. Dickhead with gun means an innocent person ends up getting shot because "good guy with a gun" feels corporate property rights are more important than peoples safety.
I could care less about OPP. However if that armed robber threatens my life or the life of family I will do what is necessary to eliminate that threat. If it means compliance so be it. If it means engaging the robber with gunfire so be it. So you are wrong. No all good guys with guns are out there looking to use it.

Your aim, if catching an intruder in your house, is to make him leave. Period.

It could mean running him over with your car. Of course, not everyone is looking to use their car like that either. But the potential is there.

Yeah, if an armed robber were to stand in front of your running car and point a gun at you...American criminals are not known for their smarts, but this would have to be a tiny possibility.
Even then, I'm not sure it's a great idea.

I am friends with Anthony. After he was shot they took his gun and tied him up. He overheard them saying they were going to kill him. He was able to free himself and lock the doors while police responded. He hid in a closet till he heard police. He was nursing a back injury and had just taken his pain meds. The girl accomplice opened the door and texted the bad guys after he was knocked out from the pain meds. He told me that the meds made it hard to function or he would have easily prevented the guy that shot him from shooting him. The third guy was not armed and likely would have fled with both armed accomplices lying shot.

Not always. Great friend of mine got shot dead working at a convenience store, after he gave the robbers the cash. He complied and they killed him anyway.
Same thing happened to the dad of one of my fathers students. He told my mother the story and she cried. 6th grader no dad no more. Very sad and the dad even begged for his life. I was very young and remember it as one of the things that helped me understand how evil people can be.

So you support gun control ?

A gun under the counter might have given him a chance. No guarantee...but a chance.
