A federal appeals court has denied Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's request for an expedited hearing on the state's controversial immigration law. Instead, the case has been scheduled for a hearing during the first week in November.
The AZ law can't be enforced unless the Fed rules in its favor in November, which it won't.
It makes sense that they suspended it and it makes sense that they are being made to wait.
Right. Because this isn't a big deal or anything.
Good. Always nice to see bigots take a setback.
What a crock. Uncola. you don't know me, I support the Az bill, live in AZ, and am not a bigot. So for all you thinking AZ is wrong, what is your response to the Feds not doing thier job regarding illegals? Do you support the status quo to continue? It is interesting that many who oppose the law play the race issue. If anyone is a bigot, look in the mirror.

Hm.... What is their reason for denying them speedy legal proceedings? And why November? Clearly the courts are trying to legislate and preserve the Democrat's party image. The law is no longer the law, but merely a political ploy
I fail to see how the state of Arizona is facing any longer of a delay than any other decision being made in Federal court.
Pro-illegals regularly deliberately spew lies about opposition by calling them racists or xenophobic or anti-immigrant. Pro-illegals dishonestly lumps illegals in with illegal immigrations by calling illegals just "immigrants" or refers to anti-illegal immigration laws as "anti-immigration" laws. Pro-illegals use terms such as "undocumented immigrations", "migrants", "migrants", "laborers", or "Undocumented Americans" to hide the illegality of illegal immigration. Do you think these pro-illegals believe what they say when they accuse the opposition of bigotry, racism or xenophobia? I do not believe for a second they honestly believe the lies they spew, its nothing more than a tactic to accuse to the opposition of illegal immigration as bigots, racists or xenophobes since that is all they have to resort to. They know they can't win a debate on illegal immigration using the truth.
And I fail to see a reason to delay a high profile and politically entwined case until November.
And bigots regularly try to use stealth-speak to hide their bigotry. It seems to really rag them off when "one of their own race" cuts thru it and calls it what it is. Bigotry, couched in less obvious terms, but bigotry just the same.
I see you are spewing more lies. You don't have a leg to stand on in the illegal immigration debate so you have to scream bigot while throwing a tantrum like a 2 year old in order to get heard.
It gets delayed for the same reason any case at that level gets delayed -- scheduling, case load, and priority.

Right. To see this as politics is silly. Oklahoma has had a similar law on the books for several years, since 2007. (Oklahoma Taxpayer and Citizens Protection Act) Its enforcement was suspended immediately and still waiting for adjudication. This was all very predictable. Wrong to be challenged, IMO, but predictable.
what does it matter, the law will be declared unconstitutional.
Everybody else with a case chugging through the Federal court system has to wait, why the hell should the government of the state of Arizona be any different?
It's a big deal, but you can't call it an emergency. If it were an emergency, they would've done this years ago.
