Conservatives more susceptible to believing falsehoods​

Conservatives are less able to distinguish political truths from falsehoods than liberals, mainly because of a glut of right-leaning misinformation, a new national study conducted over six months shows.

Researchers found that liberals and conservatives in the United States both tended to believe claims that promoted their political views, but that this more often led conservatives to accept falsehoods while rejecting truths.

One of the main drivers of the findings appeared to be the American media and information environment.

If you search for articles on the differences between liberal and conservative brains, you'll find believing lies and being unable to admit being wrong and being more fearful is more prevalent in conservatives than liberals. There is also a bit of research looking at physical differences in the brains of liberals and conservatives that affect those behaviors.

Ive seen some of that stuff and read it . .
it interesting for sure and im sure on average it has some merit

Just saying in real life we have seen swings and I know conservatives that dont believe any of the bullshit so im willing to not invest too deeply in it

then there's also the usage of the term conservative . . some of the info was based on "self-identified" people and it showed less of some traits and some people were categorized based on a questionnaire

that stuff is tricky, but like i said, on average, the right got it on lockdown right now, they are the guilty ones more so than any others

Nah- statistically speaking, there is absolutely no comparison. This is not a "both sides do it so it's the same" kind of thing. It is a real phenomenon which is leading a lot of people to look into all the causes for it. It's a very bizarre thing, but real.
