That was the case for Aubrey Ireland, a 21-year-old music theater major at College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. She convinced a judge to grant her a restraining order against her parents, David and Julie Ireland.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Ireland told the court that despite making the dean's list, her parents would routinely drive 600 miles from Kansas to Ohio to make unannounced visits to her at school. Then they accused her of illegal drug use, promiscuity and mental illness.
Her parents allegedly became so overbearing that they installed keylogging software on her computer and cell phone to keep track of her every move.

Talk about crazy ass ****ing parents. Some parents apparently just dont know how to let go.

A music theater major? She probably does drugs, sleeps around and ain't quite right. Poor parents.

Some things just - I don't even know.

The school was awesome, though - stepping in and paying for the rest of her schooling? holy **** - that's like way above and beyond.

and she's going to a SCHOOL for music - so I don't see why being a music theater major is some sort of concern since EVERYONE is there for theater or music degrees of some nature. . . duh - common sense.

It's a department at U Cin, it appears. Have you ever met a music major? A theater major? Imagine both. I mean, wow, I'd like to party with her.

What a GREAT idea to get a scholarship!

Just be really, really dispicable parents - I mean REALLY make the university administration totally despise you - and in the context how you seemingly treat your kid there. Make bizarre and extreme demands or else you'll cut your kid's tuition off. Make them want you to lose your power tripping and wanting your kid to win and be free of you.

It's a double standard too. If it was a guy, I'd be saying "you know that dude's a virgin".
