College Educated Whites Not Voting for Trump

No, but a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Biology most certainly is.

Agreed.

If the government is going to make the mistake of demanding taxpayers turn a college education into an entitlement, it should be restricted along the lines of the areas of study you mentioned above.

Because engineering isn't really traditional "education" it's more technical education.
I was an engineering and chemistry major, until I got disillusioned with the whole system.

Yours is essentially a 4 year trade school.
It's actually a 5-year program. It's not a trade school, not a calculus based engineering degree. That education is designed to give one insight and knowledge of how to apply the fundamental principles of math and science toward problem solving. Hopefully, the student comes out of school well-rounded in all aspects of those disciplines and others like Econ, English, etc. and can then use his innate talents, like imagination and creativity, more effectively.

That's a load of crap.
It's just that firms are outsourcing their training to schools, rather than in housing like they used to do.
Yep, the world is as it is, not as it once was.

I would agree with that. Nursing, Dental Hygiene, and other job specific training/education can be added to the list as well, IMO.

Not all programs are 5 year and it is basically a trade program.
It's padded of course, like accounting, nursing et all to keep extra people out and wages high.

I understand change and am fine with it.
However that doesn't mean all change is objectively good.

In the end though, this is besides the point.
Someone not having a college degree, doesn't necessarily infer they're an imbecile.
Implying as such is nothing but a personal attack and appeal to authority.
Something these ohh sooo special "educations" should be teaching.

I absolutely support degreed programs in core disciplines. Engineering, Science, etc.. There is an extreme shortage of young people pursuing such education, although there is hope that is changing.

I currently employ over a dozen engineers. The majority of them received their education outside the United States. That needs to change.

I advocate full support for those seeking degrees on the core disciplines, and an "on your own" for those who seek different degrees.

My Mater's Program was over 90% foreign students. It was my first exposure to that insanity. The other odd part of it was that the male/female mix among those foreigners was actually quite balanced. In my undergrad program, it was almost 100% male, US citizens.

Yep, the candidates for the two major parties are horrible. I totally agree.

BTW: I am one of those "independents" looking very closely at Johnson. I guess, if my choice is Hillary, Trump, No vote or Gary....Johnson is ahead by a nose with no vote right behind it.

I do wish in one of these poll they would include a column for the never vote for both instead of just Clinton and then just Trump. I am sure most Republicans are in the never vote for Clinton column and most Democrats in the never vote for Trump column.

I choose Johnson because he is the former very successful Republican governor of New Mexico, a very blue state. He has experience working with a legislature which can be equated with a congress. I think that is important. I think it is important you vote, for whom it really doesn't matter. But if 10-20% of all Americans end up voting for a third party candidate, candidates no has ever heard of, I think that sends a message. It lets both major parties know that we think they are disgusting. That they went against the will of America at large in nominating whom they did. They put their needs above that of the majority of Americans.

I could go on and on, but I'll stop. Ranting accomplishes nothing. But a vote against the two major parties just might. Put them on notice that they are walking a very thin line.

<------------ college educated white woman NOT voting for Trump. Not voting for Hillary either.

Strange choice of candidate to make that statement though. No? It's not like Trump is Ralph Nader.

"Let's nominate a crooked businessman who panders to Haters and show those crooked politicians."

Maybe....but that just shows you how much people hate Hillary. Personally, I'd vote for a dead cockroach before I vote for that evil wench. Perhaps instead of complaining about Trump, the DNC should have propped up a more worthy candidate themselves. Liberals need to work on that, instead of constantly blaming republicans for their issues.

Both parties managed the incredible this cycle: nominating candidates with unfavorable ratings over 50%. I think both are disliked by over 55% of the voting population. That's absolutely amazing.

Are you giving Johnson a close look or are you sitting this one out? I guess, I'm curious because I feel the exact same way, except I'm male.

Johnson sure looked sane in 2012. He and Romney (maybe Huntsman too) were the only reasonable GOP candidates that year, IMO. Romney though was flawed, and Johnson was treated like the redheaded stepchild. IIRC, he wasn't even allowed in the debates.

True, He may be the only sane candidate on the ballot this year too. When ever I think of a President Trump or Clinton I get chills up and down my spine and goose bumps on my arms. Perhaps that is a sign of fear of how harmful either will be to this country. Yet, so many seem willing to accept that harmfulness with a smile.

Myself, I'm curious as to how many high school graduates will actually vote for Trump.

I'm voting for Johnson. Or I'm writing in Rubio. I know both actions are fruitless but at least I won't hate myself in the morning.

It's still possible that Trump gets thrown off the ticket. I hold out hope for that too.

I would love to see that happen. But I don't think I'll be betting the mortgage payment on it. We're one week from the convention, sadly.

The fact that whites who get a college education - socialism indoctrination - won't vote for Trump is a surprise to some? It should be an indictment of our public education system. That our public education system is churning out socialist minded individuals who are unaccustomed to thinking for themselves.

Ironic post of the Month Nominee

I'm not sure how you define "evil," but morally and ethically bankrupt, avariciously ambitious at the expense of any scruples at all, and "narcissistic" are a damned good start.

Sounds like you're describing Trump

Just how far in debt must one go to be so well educated as to vote for a chameleon fake, lying, corrupt and now for sure criminal but not indicted witch without a solid, much less exemplary, track record in any area of endeavor in which she has ever foundered?

Er. Which of the two major candidates are you describing?
