There is so much truth in that.
However, as I see it you are devoid of the right level of cynicism. Face reality. If they are asking for a vote, they will ultimately screw you. If you are careful you will elect the ones who use KY.
After that they are to a person, self involved, arrogant, egotistic and liars. Some are likeable, others are necessary now and again, but none of them is Jesus and they are as greedy as greedy gets. They will learn what you want to hear, rephrase it in much more vague terms and when election time comes around they will do their utmost to make the other guy eat ****, or at least look like he has.
That's it. That is the sum of the parts of all politicians.
What the US needs is a third party. But you always make the mistake of running for the big job. If I were Bernie's man, I would be reshaping him as the "none of the above" candidate and recruit some good people to run as alternative candidates in hand selected seats.
Look, in the Senate right now there is what a three seat difference? What if a third party was holding even a half dozen of those seats? What if a third party had the balance of power in the House?
Can you see the kind of overweight influence you could have? All you need is ONE good win, an issue of your choosing and you are in the driver's seat.
If you ever get a chance check out anything about the history of the New Democratic Party in Canada. Our 'third' party. They came into being in the 30's, cashing in on the need for social assistance reform. They remain a viable third choice - usually to the left and have control of a few Provinces including BC.
As soon as voters have a third alternative, the two 'establishment parties' will sooner or later have to clean up their act.
lastly, yeah, I always thought Americans were smart, but they have fallen for this guy's magic mayhem creating intense fears and then feeding off them.
