so, unless I"m wrong and Nunes claimed that Rice's unmasking broke federal law, this is kinda just repetition of the status quo.

Being a person of a certain age I distinctly remember the foundation of the Nixon Watergate debacle had its roots in an obsession with leaks and leakers and that was the impetus for much of the Nixon administration illegality ........... and I am also old enough to remember how that particular sorry episode ended both for Nixon and the nation.

When will the Trump apologists ever get it through their thick heads that trying to shift the attention of the country away from Russian possible Trump involvement to leaks of that same information will never ever work and it only makes them look horribly desperate?

What's really interesting about this discussion is that those of you attacking Rice and defending Trump apparently don't care much that the Trump campaign shouldn't have been having those conversations in the first place.

I will critique politicians of either party where they are wrong, and acknowledge them when they are right. Trump lies because he's a liar. Rice lies because she is a liar. Both of them are liars.

And let's go back to Rice's so-called lie. First of all, the question she answered was a long and rambling one and it's impossible to tell what 'question' she was answering. Second, in that interview, she freely admits to 'unmasking' as a normal part of her job as NSA. So there is no deception that she does this on a fairly routine basis because she tells the PBS host that she does it and why. Third, at this point she's out of office and cannot have seen the documents Nunes was referring to, what was "disclosed," so how can she know what in the hell he's talking about. Third, as you must know, I doubt if there is anything she COULD say about who she might have unmasked outside a classified hearing, because to admit to knowing about unmasking Trump's people would be to reveal classified information in a news interview, that their conversations were caught up in intercepts of other targets, which is to provide a big list of potential targets of FISA warrants, and that Trump's people had been unmasked. I can't imagine that this is information she can share freely with the public. So the obvious answer is "I cannot comment on any of this at all" versus "I don't know anything about this." Wow, that's a true SCANDAL!@! Throw her in JAIL!!!!
