Cindy Sheehan arrested........

What is with all of the cursing and name calling? This isn't the freakin' basement, y'all. I'm pretty sure you're all capable of debating like the mature adults you're SUPPOSED to be.

Relax, watch your blood pressure...............;)

DJ, you seem like and intelligent young person...Why do you think she was there?

Because she was invited? LMAO why are most people at the SOTU address?

I don't get all quickness to string up a congresswoman for Cindy's actions. Like I've said... Cindy is a nut. Is it possible this is premeditated? absolutely... though NO proof has been offered to back up that assertion. The speculation throughout this thread is astounding.

I just wanted to say that Cindy Sheehan is one of the ugliest women I've ever seen and she looks like a guy. Seems like nowdays, the liberal women protesters are getting uglier and uglier. Back in the 60's, at least the liberal women protesters were hot, like Jane Fonda.

:rofl

Inviting Cindy to the State of the Union Speech is like inviting and alcoholic to a all night booze party..........It won't work........

The childishness and vitriol coming from the Bushites here is hysterical.

This woman lost her son in Bush's misadventure in Iraq. She has more than earned the right, which in fact she always possessed as a US citizen to make her opinion known. The Fact the Republican boosters here are redcued to calling , ugly, bitch, psycho and the rest just shows are utterly and completely morally bankrupt the GOP is.

That was my biggest laugh of the SOTU speech when Bush was talking of lowering the volume of debate. It is the GOP noise machine that views all dissent as treason, calls people ugly, refers to decorated veterans and even disabled ones as cowards and fools.

There are so many things I agree with the GOP on but I can never vote for them because of their ties to the Christian Fascisti, and the torrential flow of vomitus vetroil they hurl out while claiming to be the victim of an attack from those whom they defame.

That is the biggest pile of horse dung. Nobody forced her son to join the military and go over there in the first place. Everybody knows the risk of joining the service and going to war. Or is Cindy so dumb that she's playing too many video games and thinks once somebody dies, all you have to do is throw a resurrect spell on them? Is this Final Fantasy or is this the real world? Duuuuuh.....

This is nonsensical and does not even address what I said. Of course he knew there was some risk. He did have a right to expect he wouldn't be sent to war over Bush family business, but that is neither here nor there. The fact that the GOP cannot disagree without demonzing is the point.

You can disagree with her tactics without calling her ugly, traitor, psycho, and bitch. If you cannot, then you lack the intellectual werewithal to be in the debate at all. Sadly the GOP people here cannot do it. Too much time spent reading Coulter and Savage I suspect. You actually think calling someone an ugly bitch is a valid rebuttal of their political stance. That is sad.

?

I didn't call her a bitch, I just said she was ugly. I have a flair for comedy, so I naturally make jokes at times. Don't take me too seriously and I am being serious about that. Anyway, I am debating her beliefs as we speak. She has no grounds to protest the war and continue to make an ass out of yourself just because her son died in the war. Like I've said: It was his choice to go to war. Is there some kind of a secret draft that we, the American public, have been kept in the dark about all these years since 9/11? Furthermore, there are many mothers who have lost sons in the war that don't feel the same way that she does about it.

First off this is not a war. Bush didn't have the balls to ask for, and Congress did not issue a declaration of war. Secondly joining the military doesn't mean you agree to being sent to fight in a private squabble for the president's family. Especially when you consider our real enemies are not being touched while we play this tragic game in Iraq.

Secondly, you did not call her a bitch, but other Bushites here have several times. The GOP seems to have completely lost the ability to discuss ANY issue sans invective. From Lee Atwater to Michal Savage it has rolled downhill.

The fact that other mother who have lost sons do not agree with her, some do, some don't is irreverent to her right to protest. She has every ground to protest what is going on in Iraq. No declaration of war, the 9-11 Commission itself says Iraq had no meaningful ties to al-Qaeda and 9-11, there were no WMD's, and no nuclear program. The Saudis are getting of scot-free. OBL and company are still roaming the earth because the vast majority of our efforts are being sucked up by the morass that is Iraq. Our real enemies are laughing while Bush tries to avenge his father.

What part of the 1st amendment don't Republicans understand? Oh, all of it.

As a republican, we understand many things, first being plausible options, such as democracy, and the most receptive countries in the M.E, Iraq being number one!

Secondly, war is not the issue here, nor has it ever been. This is a weak country, soured by sanctions, and a regime that lacked the effort in which to to take care of the masses under their control. They were the most logical choice for a base of operation, and one that may very well become a important ally, either way, we are deployed, and we are surrounding a very important target, how very dim witted of us all.

Next, you speak of unwarranted invasions, and lack of evidence in which to proceed, then in the same breath, you mention Saudi Arabia, what was their crime exactly.....oh that's right, their number one son was from there, I guess that's evidence enough for a full scale invasion, and you have little Resistance to that conflict?

Now, what exactly does this war afford anyone in the Bush family, Oil? The Bush family has been out of oil for sometime. Oh wait, I know, Halliburton.....no, Cheney sold that stock the minute he took office. I wonder what this great treasure is you people keep talking about, I am at a loss personally?

This is partisan, no surprise there, I hate who Bush supposedly loves, and I don't mind killing them, just don't stop the other guy from killing that guy, because that guy does not fit my agenda. That about covers it right? Or this one, why not somewhere else, there are other places that need saving, but they to would be under the microscope, it never ends, it really never ends.

As for Cindy, pfffft, she hardly enters in to this important discussion at all, she is more then irrelevant, she is down right invisible in the grand scale of things.

Duh, her son reenlisted and volunteered to stay in Iraq.........How do you explain that?

I have said a dozen times I am sorry for her loss but I won't say it again.........She is using her sonfor political reasons and she is as nutty as a fruitcake............

Well I heard the Congresswoman interviewed the other day and she is as nutty as Sheehan.........

The fact that shows that Cindy is making a mockery of her son's life.

He re-enlisted in August, 2003.

Of his very own free will.

When we were already engaged in Iraq.

Fancy that...he had to know what was going on...unless he inherited his mother's Stupid Gene...

What I would like to know is....how come no one is making a fuss over Laci Peterson's mother making money off of her daughter's death?

First off, Joint Resolution Resolution of Congress of October 22, 2002 in accordance with the 1973 war powers resolution, catch a clue.

Second off, she calls the President a terrorist, sides with the tyrant Chavez, and is an anti-semite. I'll call that crazy bitch a crazy bitch all I want, freedom of speech is a two way street and Cindy Sheehan is a crazy bitch to the tenth power of bitch.

What really pisses me off is that I actually felt sorry for this lady and supported her right to speak out, but now I honestly don't give a fuc/k anymore, she's crossed the line from dissent to treason.

This must be some sort of bizarro week, however, because this certainly isn't the only thread outside of the basement where I've seen this.....I expect this sort of language in the basement, where no one's gonna take you too seriously anyway, but come on now, if you expect to be taken seriously upstairs, act your age! I really hate that phrase...I guess it's the mommy in me coming out already!!

It is either the effect of the beginning of the year of the dog, or something to do with the Seahawks making it to the Super Bowl. I think the later is one of the signs of the end of the world.

You're allowed to curse and name call as long as it's not a personel attack on another forum member, these are attacks on Ms. Cindy Chavez.

Actually you're not allowed to curse. We have a filter that edits out most curse words. This is why yourself, and several other members, find you must become creative when cussing. Or did you not realize you we're repeatedly replacing a "U" in a certain word with a "/" ?

So how about everyone start following the rules from here on out?

Cindy Sheehan's son joined the military himself, dedicating himself to a cause and a belief. unfortunately he died.

Cindy Sheehan grieved and is now protesting an injust reason why she believes her son died. I have no problem with her opinion and wanting to speak out.

I do have a problem with Cindy going to Venezuela and snuggling up and taking pictures with Hugo Chavez, a Socialist Party member who dislikes this nation. Sheehan provided MAJOR propoganda to chavez, to the insurgents trying to kill other mothers' sons and daughters abroad right now, and to Bin laden somewhere in Pakistan. She has aligned herself with self-proclaimed enemies (Chavez's own words) of our country.

As a soldier and as a father, I find it disheartening that Cindy's son gave his life protecting this country, and his mother disgraces his memory in at least some small way by taking photos with socialist Partyleaders who don't like our President or this country.

As a soldier, I do not appreciate her aiding and abetting the enemy who is trying tokill myfriends fighting there now by undermining this nation's resolve, deflating military members' morale, trying to take down our President during a time of war, and embarrassing this nation at home and abroad. I understand her grief, but I think that grief has driven her to do some ridiculous things. What she is doing now is no lnger about her son, as she claims it is. All in all, it is sad and distasteful.

And in regards to the name-calling of Sheehan above: although I refrain from such behavior myself, the post is correct. Freedom of speech IS a 2-way street, much to the liberals' discomfort/anger. Sheehan can mug with Chavez and call bush as crazy as she wants to, but anyone who wants to has the right to call her 'crazy', 'traitor', or worse. It's the 'American Way'!

It has to do with all of you getting all up in arms because Cindy's made some money and garnered some attention off of her son's death. Well, Laci Peterson's mother is doing the same thing, though not quite on the same scale....she's making the talk show rounds, she's got a book out......so why is no one berating her for making money off of her daughter's death? What makes it so wrong for Cindy, but ok for Sharon Rocha?

So just because someone "can", they should act like a six year old? There's a time and a place for name calling....it's called the elementary school playground. Besides, as Pacridge pointed out, there were words being used that aren't supposed to be used on here, and the posters were having to come up with clever ways to edit the words so that they wouldn't show up as nothing more than ***** and the like. If you can't have a mature debate without calling someone names and swearing, then why are you here?

Well I guess the difference is a lot of us feel that Sheehan is disrespecting our military and the president of the United State........

Hey Stace, take a chill pill - then re-read my post! At NO time did I say anyone should revert to name calling, and I specifically stated that I refrain from doing so. But, as you Libs like to throw up all the time, it's a free country. It isn't just YOUR right to free speech but everyone's. Develop a tough skin, besides it wasn't even aimed at YOU.

Also, the Peterson comparison to Sheehan is ridiculous. I haven't seen Peterson mugging for photos with enemies of this country, slandering our military, or advocating the overthrow of our president during a time of war.

Distraught mom versus mom with issues who is siding with enemies of our nation outside the country.....there is a BIG difference here!

I didn't say that you were doing the name calling, nor did I infer that your post was directed at me. That doesn't mean I can't respond to it. Besides, I'm pretty sure chill pills have some ingredients I shouldn't be ingesting right now

And yes, Sharon Rocha is very similar to Cindy Sheehan. They both lost their children, and they're both making money off of that. NEITHER of them should be doing the things they are. Cindy just has a larger audience because of the circumstances under which her son died.
