Christianity - the real target of hate in gay issue

If you can't debate without your cartoon friends, then why are you here? Your cartoon sure attempts to skip over Matthew by skipping over to another passage and then making it up from there.

I am following debate protocol. I make a statement and back it up with proof . . . .unlike you. All those "cartoons" are clear and accurate stances from Scriptures backed up by two or three corroborating witnesses from Scriptures. Don't complain when I come prepared and you have only your unsubstantiated opinions as "proof."
You are upset since I am not a dumb sheep that falls for your "bible lessons."

They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on the shoulders of others; but they themselves are unwilling to lift a finger to move them. Hmm, those show that the only person a Christian should judge is themself only.
 
I'm sure you'll pull the following quotes out with your cartoons:
Lev.19:15
"In righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour."

Jn.7:24
"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

1 Cor.2:15
"But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man."

1 Cor.5:12-13
"For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person."

1 Cor.6:2-3
"Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?."
First off, what do all of those have in common? NONE were said by Jesus.

Let's go further down the line and examine all of those individually:
Lev.19:15
"In righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour."


the actual command is
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
or, rendered in the NIV
'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly."
In other words, when one is called to judge in a case of law, refrain from allowing the wealth of one party to compromise your decision.

Jn.7:24
"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."


The "judgement" in this passage is not the judging of a person, but the application of good judgement to situations. (I realize that among those who wish to impose arbitrary literalism on everything, such complex distinctions are difficult.)

1 Cor.2:15
"But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man."


Again, the passage clearly establishes that the judgement is applied to situations or actions, not to people. Only in the second clause is a judgement of a person, indicated, and there it says "he will not be judged."

1 Cor.5:12-13
"For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person."



At last! We actually have an instance in which a person may be judged! And what is Paul's actual command? If someone among the community of Corinth is publicly engaging in immorality, or engaging in greedy or swindling business practices, or committing idolatry, they are to be excluded from the community to avoid giving scandal, (i.e., excommunicated.) There is no command to judge the person, only to judge the actions, and if they give scandal, to put the person outside the community. And what does he say of those outside the community? God will judge them.

1 Cor.6:2-3
"Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?."


But, the passage goes on to say:
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.


Note that the statement regarding the judging of the world is juxtaposed with judging the angels and is contrasted with judging things in "this life."

Paul is addressing the issue of members of the Corinthian community filing tort actions against each other over petty complaints. He notes that at the end, the saints will be qualified to judge the world, but that at this time, the community should be able to find some wise member to act as a judge or mediator for small disputes so that they are not giving scandal outside the community.
Again, no one is given permission (much less a commmand) to judge the quality of a person--only to referee private disputes between individuals.

Umm... Maybe we should put this in context. This is the New King James Version:

John 7: 21-24

(21)Jesus answered and said to them, "I did one work, and you all marvel. What's the point of you being in a debate forum?

Whether you like/believe it or not, 90% of everything Jesus said I agree with. He was a pascifist, which I thought I did a good job of proving in post #24. You know, the one you didn't respond to?

You can respond with an intelligent argument, or you can concede. Calling me a natural man, even though you don't know me or my religion, isn't an argument. It's a hiding place.

Did you really applaud when God flooded the world because they lived in sin?

No blindness is what you have since you don't understand what is required and what is not required from the Scriptures . . and you love it that way . . . and since you are a hater of God and His people you make up lies about His words to give you some perverse ego boost. However, you will look very small and pathetic wailing and gnashing your teeth on the day of judgment so have your fun now . . . .

Luke 22: 49

Why do you think Jesus told them to stop? He knew he was going to die a painful death. Why not have his men kill them all, after all the were armed. Jesus could have gone on the run as a fugitive. Who knows? Why do you think Jesus told them to stop.

How much of a stampede could have been caused in an enclosed are such as a temple anyway?

The actions of the end times are meant to be battle of the truest good against the truest evil, it is not at all an example of how we should be acting until the end times get here.

Why is citing scriptures and understanding the Bible the only way to win this argument? Shouldn't we go by the natural truths of the world? Jesus lived a great life and taught great things, but great wrongs have been committed in his name, including alienating those who do not believe in his holiness. Jesus reached out to people, and Christians who feel they are superior, telling non-believers they are going to Hell is just alienating everyone else, the opposite of what Jesus sought to achieve.

I see great irony in this thread and it's title. Here it was created to make christianity seem like the victim in the current political structure when all it does is point out the intolerance of said people (or to be fair there is only one arguing the case.) to allow others to have different views or morales than their own.

It's pointless to argue with you. I don't believe in Jesus as my savior. I believe in God as the Creator and nothing more. I believe ,ost of the stories in the Bible are false because I feel it wouldn't make sense for God to interefere in our lives. God has to live by the laws of nature He created. There, now win your argument without citing scriptures since I won't accept them as fact. Please don't respond by saying I'm going to Hell, I accept that you believe in Hell, please accept that I don't. I accept that you believe in the Bible, please accept that I think that God must operate within the rules of science. Also, please don't respond by proving the Bible is true, you accept it as true because of your faith and I respect that. Is Christianity the target of the gay issue? I think that Churches have the right to deny any marriage they wish, but the government shouldn't make laws based on religious scripture. Government should make laws to better society. You think society is better without gays, but they exist and the US government should be tolerant of EVERYBODY, not just what Christians are tolerant of because then we cease to be the United States of America and become the Theocratic States of America.

No irony. Christianity is the victim of the God haters called homosexuals and their supporters. Hate and intolerance is from the God haters who hate the word of God and are intolertant to God's people.



Toleracne is the buzzword used by the God haters to promote their hateful messages.
