That worst Part of all of this.... and it will while the US is intent on descending into a self imposed dystopia where the wealth gap continues to increase and social stability continues to decrease.
Is he? I think the world sees how Putin and Netanyu treat Trump as their own useful idiot, why should anyone else give him any respect? Xi is just jumping on the bandwagon.Xi is getting cocky.

Trump is the ultimate paper tiger.
Since we pick our leaders in this nation that means it is on US whether we hold our place on the world stage or lose it.
Sure, the world can move on without the US, but the US isn't going away.
We do? Really? Thats funny.
If it were up to me I would have picked Mark Kelly, and we'd have a real President right now instead of......that thing we currently have.
Corporations choose our leaders, multinational corporations and the uberwealthy.
And they certainly give the NAY or the YAY on legislation, since the Legislature is 100% beholden to its bribery class.
The illusion of "freedom" and of any real "choice".....well. Just an illusion.![]()
That's China's leaders talking to it's own people explaining how to deal with idle factories and no jobs.
Agree, well said and true. Our leaders will determine if we maintain our place on the world stage of lose it. Since we pick our leaders in this nation that means it is on US whether we hold our place on the world stage or lose it.
This nation is/was all about potential. That includes the potential to go FUBAR and have to live with the consequences of screwing your own pooch.
Maybe...or maybe not.The US will resume its leadership when the mess is cleaned up...simply because no one wants a world led by China.
Indeed. The parts that resonate from Xi's post are "legitimacy dying the moment it's assumed rather than earned" and the US losing the respect of the world. This is the concern I've expressed during the tariff fiasco because the hubris in that broad action was based on the US being a vital player no one can do without, which is a great way to lose both legitimacy and respect. While markets can rebound for their own reasons, the viability of the US as a stable player has taken a hit and we're not sure when and if that comes back. What the Trump presidency signals is that kind of president is a possibility in the future as well. That worst Part of all of this.
The decline is self imposed.
