Charlie Kirk murder suspect linked to crime scene evidence through DNA match, FBI director says

How much can Patel get away with before it becomes jury tampering? Assuming a jury had been seated, of course.

The FBI is traditionally tightlipped about ongoing investigations. Nothing about this administration is traditional. That alone disqualifies MAGA from conservatism.

The governor of Utah is going to get the suspect's landlord killed. He needs to shut his cake hole.

He did. They detained two individuals early on that they questioned and released. Patel made an announcement on X that they had caught the shooter, but he was released shortly after. It was a dumb error.

It was not an error. It was deliberate. It is what clickbait clowns do, not people with important responsibilities carrying them out with dignity and decorum.

If you say so.

I'm sorry, you'll have to ask NBC reporters about that.

I didn't write the article. I can't say they weren't just stirring shit.
They were simply quoting Patel. Any comment on that?

So we have DNA on a towel and a screw driver.

That’s…not a hell of a lot.

I hope the FBI is getting more conclusive evidence together.
There's also the photos and video, although it is not high definition
There's also the rifle
There's also the claim by his own father
There's also the discord messages about reclaiming the rifle...

that's... more than not a lot.

Can you imagine any other FBI director in your lifetime that would make that "error"? Twice?
Oh, now it’s in quotes. Sounds like a conspiracy.

Yes, I can imagine people making an error like that twice.

People, yes. There are a lot of clowns out there.

They’d better start nailing down concrete evidence vs. circumstantial, hearsay, etc. of the suspect in custody has decided not to cooperate.

And probably would be better off not sharing all of it out on the interweb.

Is it typical for the FBI director to make major announcements on X? Maybe I missed it, but I recall the bureau being much more professional than this.

I’ll bring it up with Patel at his next performance review.

Oh wait, he doesn’t report to me.

Sorry I didn't venerate the FBI Director to your satisfaction.

Don’t know. I’m not in the FBI nor have any insight into how their public relations processes work/

Both the Wall Street Journal and the Guardian have printed retractions of some previous reports, so it may be a good time to take everything being reported with a grain of salt.

Editor’s note: This article was updated on 12 September 2025 to remove summarized quotes after the verified source who attended high school with Tyler Robinson said after publication that they could not accurately remember details of their relationship.

You don't have to be in the FBI to know how major public announcements are made. Really weak excuse.

No, it's not typical. The FBI typically makes these announcements live, at a podium, into a microphone, from a well written script. If you don't know this, then you're unqualified for the debate. You of course do know this.

I prefer traditional government. Some things are above social media. Government is one of those things.

More information continues to be revealed.
"His family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology, and even more so in these last couple of years, and he had a text message exchange — he, the suspect, with another individual — in which he claimed that he had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and he was going to do it because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for, " the FBI director said.

The implication that left-wing ideology is what made him hate Kirk leaves no room to consider that he simply hated what Kirk stood for sans any influence from left or right ideology. This need to attach ideology to all actions ignores that people can and do make decisions based on personal experience and critical thinking.
