Candidates poised for classified briefings despite spy agency worries over Trump
U.S. spy agencies are preparing to deliver a classified briefing to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, the nation’s intelligence director said Thursday, despite deep unease among many spy officials with the real estate mogul’s pro-Russian rhetoric.
<snip>
Clapper’s remarks came amid new signs of deep discomfort with Trump among the upper ranks of the intelligence community. In a measure of that growing animosity, one senior intelligence official said Wednesday that he would decline to participate in any session with Trump. “I would refuse,” the official said, citing not only concern with Trump’s expressions of admiration for Russian President Vladi*mir Putin but seeming uninterest in acquiring a deeper or more nuanced understanding of world events.
“He’s been so uninterested in the truth and so reckless with it when he sees it,” the official said
Wait, Hillary had multiple servers in her basement which contained reams of national security data, and which the FBI stated were likely hacked by hostile foreign entities, and the "intelligence community" is worried about Trump?Trump's own words and actions are causing some worry in America's intelligence community

Yeah, right.

Funny they should be worried about Clinton and her numerous ties to the Chinese.
They should also be hugely worried at the fact the can't keep classified data safe and secure,
And is very negligent when it comes to handling classified data.
Clinton committed federal felonies while in charge of classified data.
She technically shouldn't even have a security clearance according to the law.
So these security advisors are barking up the wrong tree.
But you myopic bias view is clearly noted.
I'll do that when you can identify the unnamed sources in your Washington ComPost article.Really? "multiple servers in her basement which contained reams of national security data" Please provide the reading audience with proof of such a statement.
For some reason, several GOP-led 'investigations' found ZERO evidence to support your, and their, belief.

Why do candidates even need acess to sensitive materials before the election?

POUH has admitted that it was a bad idea to throw he e-mails into the wind and hope that some of them reached her operatives that were getting rich in Libya and she swears that she won't do it again. This is funny, they worry about Trump, who has shown with his own business he knows how to handle delicate information, but no mention of Hillary who has a history of being reckless with classified information.
This must be opposite election year.
I think the idea is that it allows some time for the candidates to get primed on current world affairs before they become instantly responsible for everything.i don't see why candidates should be briefed on classified info before they win the general unless it pertains to their own personal safety.

It's made up nonsense. The article cites unnamed sources.

edit to add : if there's some extremely sensitive and potentially dangerous international issue that the candidate might tip the wrong way by saying something dumb in a speech, i'm fine with the intelligence community telling that candidate to chill the **** out in a general way.
I think the idea is to make it so they aren't blindsided on inauguration day. "Wait, we're doing what in Cuba?" But yeah, I think it's weird to do it for candidates. I think they should wait until the election. There's over two months between election day and actually taking office. Plenty of time to get up to speed. Why send the loser home with national security secrets?
