Canadian PM Justin Trudeau visits Trump at Mar-a-Lago amid steep tariff threats

I agree. There is wayyyy too much in politics and government jobs nowadays what with insider trading, travel for free, perks. Someone like Podesta gets to be head of a green energy department that doles out millions in contracts? This is the same scam he and his brother ran in Haiti and did nothing for the Haitians. He needs to can whoever and everyone he can. I think he learned from the first time and even admitted that he trusted too many entrenched politicians for recommendations. He had to because he was a novice then. He isn't anymore and any Republican RINO who refuses to put in who he wants; he will deal with them accorfingly.
I hope so. It would be nice to start climbing out of the hole we are in.

We were debt free under Clinton. Trump did spend too much but a good chunk of it was because of Covid. Then Biden gets in and they spend trillions on green energy, infrastructure, the FBI, school loans, Ukraine, illegal aliens, health care. Most don't know that the insulin price reduction was NOT a reduction. They secretly paid their pals at Pfizer the same amount by making up the difference and adding it to the debt.

Depends on what you're into and your constitution. Winter is beautiful here, but it takes a certain degree of toughness to get the most out of it. Your Alaskans would understand.
Hard pass. Give me the beaches of Florida and call me a snowbird.

Yeah... not everyone is cut out for it. I like it though. Something about getting active in the cold air, whether it's chopping wood for my stove, or going skiing, or skating on a frozen lake, or getting in a little ice fishing... it's a a great time, if you can handle it.

Their constitution is a poor source of societal warmth.

Yes Alaskans would understand as would those from Colorado, Montana, N.Dakota, Michigan, Minnesota, Vermont, etc. They stay in those locales because they want to, in spite of the cold - imagine that?

Be sure to bow to the rainbow flags while there or you face certain arrest.
Never heard that one before. Would that be anything like getting shot in the back for a busted tail light?

Yes. That is Trudeau’s Canada where lying is a protected class and if you don’t kiss their thongs and dresses you will be arrested.

It's not a matter of being "cut out for it". I just prefer warm weather and beaches. If you want to freeze your ass off it's none of my concern. However, skiing and skating in small doses is certainly fun.

Lol... no, it's definitely a matter of if you're cut out for it, but no need to get defensive, if you're not you'd not be the only one. There's a reason why we're the second largest country in the world, while only having around 1/10th your population, and why most new Canadians tend to stick to the cities in the south. ;)

Skiing is a lot of fun, both down hill and cross country. I like cross country for the workout and the likelihood of seeing wildlife. Downhill is for adrenaline and ski bunnies, two activities i find myself aging out of. I still make it a few times a year, but I avoid moguls. I don't have as much to prove anymore... hehe

Beaches are nice to vacation at, but I get bored unless they come with bar service. Too many people sitting around sweating.
I'd rather a lake and a dock with a boat attached any day.

You're like one of those door to door vacuum cleaner salesmen who come in your home and show you all the dirt your vacuum is missing. And for just a brief moment you might be thinking he is right. And then you come to your senses and politely show him the door.

I am sure chopping wood in sub zero degree weather is a blast for some, but I'll pass. It's not getting defensive, it's personal choice, and not that I am or am not cut out for it. If I wanted to do it I am sure I could do it with the best of them. ;)

And skiing isn't just a Canada thing. We have plenty of skiing here as well. If I choose, I can go skiing anytime I want, and I do occasionally. However, I don't need to live in a frozen tundra to do it. :ROFLMAO:

I am happy with my beach. Thank you very much.

Uh; are you okay down there? Your last buy must have been some seriously bad chit. You're rambling like a Trump speech.

And, what's this OCD you seem to have with gays? Did one of them fool you in your favourite pool hall? Did you think that was his cue?

Look who’s talking. Looks like the Canucks must honor the gays and STFU about rainbow flags. How in the world can people live under the tyranny of the gays? I would be ashamed today to say I’m from Canada. Are there any real men with balls left there or did the weather freeze them all off?

Trudeau will implement a carbon tax on Canadians this April. Add the 25% tariff to that.
You can measure someone's honesty about carbon by looking at their position on nuclear power as it has no net carbon footprint. The more they support nuclear, the more honest their position on carbon. Someone who opposes nuclear yet claims to care about carbon is full of it.
Opposing nuclear weapons is now opposing nuclear energy production???
As you can see, we were talking about a carbon tax, not nuclear weapons.

You can determine Trudeau's honesty about carbon tax by looking at his stance on nuclear energy. The more anti-carbon you are, the more pro-nuclear you are, because nuclear has no net carbon footprint.

Can you show how Maple MAGA logic works, explain why the NDP would support a non-confidence vote right now? Here is the latest polls:

View attachment 67545413

For one to think the NDP or even the Bloc would be eager to elect a majority Conservative government, especially after the US election with CUSMA negotiations on the line, is flat earth territory.

Justin Trudeau is the sacrificial lamb, willing to be the court jester to satisfy DJT's ego before the real work can begin. A couple of months into the new year will be when JT steps down and most likely Mark Carney is ushered in. The only way there is an election before October 20th is if PP and the Conservatives crash and burn hard before then.
I'm not sure how to read your map. Would you mind explaining it, please?

Hehe... we are what we do, I guess. As i said not everyone is cut out for it, just like not everyone is cut out for certain parts of the states, or anywhere.

Enjoy the beach. Nobody's judging... lol...

We weren't debt free but we had a budget surplus. Mainly due to huge tax revenue increases during the dot com bubble.

Winter is important to lots of Canadians. They sing about it in Quebec, "Mons pays, c'est l'hiver!"

I'm not sure how to read your map. Would you mind explaining it, please?
The Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) is currently the leading the polls, and if an election were held today they would form a majority government. This means they wouldn't require support from any other party to approve their agenda, the budget for example. They are a more right leaning compared to all other parties of any consequence. They have 118 seats(votes) now.

The Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) is currently in charge of a minority government, so they get to decide what bills get brought to the floor to be voted on, but require the support of another party to get the agenda approved. They can't pass the budget on their own, so they have to make concessions with another party to pass legislation. They are generally (not always) more center compared to the other parties. They have 156 seats(votes) now.

The New Democratic Party (NDP) are quite a bit left of the Liberals, and currently supporting the Liberals to pass legislation because they are getting some of what they want included, say dental care for seniors, a national school lunch program etc. The NDP has 25 seats.

Bloc Québécois Party (BQ) are quite a bit left of the Liberals right now. The BQ is Quebec focused, and was willing to support the Liberals had they passed a bill increasing income for seniors and guaranteeing protection for our dairy supply management system (effectively removing any further free trade changes on dairy). They would be more willing to vote with Conservatives IF Quebec got something extra. The Bloc has 32 seats.

All that to say, both the NDP and Bloc would have to vote with the Conservatives to force an early election, which would result in a majority Conservative government.

Two left leaning parties that currently have some say, triggering a vote that would result in the right leaning party getting the power to do whatever they wanted, according to the polls.

Was there dancing after dinner? After the talks?

I hope our Trudeau had shown Trump his Swiftie moves!
