Canadian PM Justin Trudeau visits Trump at Mar-a-Lago amid steep tariff threats

I posted a YouTube video of some idiot from The Wall Street Journal trying to do the same thing with Trump and he decimated the guy and told him he and the WSJ has never been right on anything.

WHY do you think Trudeau showed up to talk to Trump? Do you think China can or will do anything? Or Europe? Or France? They have been screwing America for a long time and that is why they are against tariffs. They don't want their scheme to end.

So, if you don't like the fact that prices at Walmart will be higher, go without OR......buy AMERICAN.
I think Trudeau showed up because that's his FREAK'N JOB to act on behalf of Canada's best interests. Only the childish among you would accuse him of caving or grovelling.

Trump did this to Canada once before remember? What happened that time?
Canada retaliated with targeted tariffs as did Mexico and China - prices skyrocketed in the U.S. with just one result your taxes went to hugely increasing (billions) subsidies to your farmers to keep them from going bankrupt.

BRICS

The big expansion of BRICS membership is part of the fallout from that previous Trump exercise. Other countries decided to trade elsewhere and develope trade deals with other countries by-passing the use of the greenback entirely. Do you have any idea of how many consumers BRICS encompasses? Trump is telling them he's prepared to do a trade battle with countries of multiple billions of people by threatening to punish/close your market of a paltry 340 million?

Did jobs come back to the U.S. in numbers to offset the lay-offs? Remember those jobs in COAL that he was bringing back or those jobs at a Carrier plant where he made a similar announcement that went to Mexico as soon as his motorcade left the parking lot? Did you take note other nations like Saudi Arabia started doing oil business with BRICS member countries using their own currency?

Did you people not take note of any of this at all and still think it a big deal to come on here and bluster about sticking it to Canada?

IF Trump follows through as he's stated, yes Canada will be badly hurt BUT we will take some solace (however small) that all that talk about fixing your economy that wasn't broken and quelling inflation, that will, on the contrary, exponentially surge to a tsunami of cost hikes the likes of which you haven't seen for decades.

I desperately hope I'm wrong but your own economists and previous Trump cabinet members are sounding the alarms in a most strident fashion.

It is rumored that Trudeau took a pair of knee pads with him, but it is unconfirmed. He did try to convince Trump that coal was no way to go and carbon taxes were a good thing. Trump reports it was a good meeting and said he will meet with Poilievre to talk about Canada and America soon. Again, this is not substantiated but based on reliable sources.

As for the Brics, it is also reported that a mic drop was heard where Trump said they can go eff themselves if they think they can continue to make America bend over like Trudeau did for him.

Haaar! I'll give you this; you're consistent.

Keep your eyes open and be prepared to duck. :giggle:

Of course they're laughing at Trump. We all are.

The guy was a moron last time who hasn't aged well.

It’s clear Trudeau doesn’t consider Biden the nation’s leader. Trump should respond in kind by meeting with Pollivre.

I think your buddy put himself into a tizzy. Wouldn't expect a quick response as I'm sure his hands are full, and is going to need a little nap after.

We're just excited you invited us in to poke fun at each other. Not much else to do in the cold dark tundra these days. You people are a hoot, very entertaining.

And let's be honest. All of this entertainment would be much harder to get out of them if they were actually up here, vs. behind the safety of their keyboards... ;)

To me that could be the most entertaining part, actually... 🤭

Fining people for not supporting trannies in Canada now? Holy Moley! No wonder the libbies hate Musk and Trump. Free speech and freedom is not tolerated in Canuck land anymore. President Xi and Kim Jung Un must be happy.

I'm sure it's a nice place to visit... in the summer.

Depends on what you're into and your constitution. Winter is beautiful here, but it takes a certain degree of toughness to get the most out of it. Your Alaskans would understand.

I've legitimately been chuckling while following this thread these last few days. Couldn't get the stupid grin off my face once the cold tundra jokes started up.

Yeah it gets cold for a minute, sorry when someone else is too soft to handle it, I guess? If that's the best someone has :ROFLMAO:

WE THE NORTH. It was literally the focal point of the most successful marketing campaign in Canadian sports.

They're still banging on about the cold. LOL.

He will not target his foes just because they are Democrats and may run for office. His new FBI and DOJ heads have every right to go after traitors and criminals who used their power in those agencies to after Trump and conservatives. I think Wray will refuse to resign and Trump will have to fire him. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing who is also worried that he will be tried.
Hopefully Trump learned from the first go around to get rid of all the lefty moles. They have no concern for this country. They are just lurking around hoping to leak any snippets of information that can be taken out of context or twisted in a way to undermine Trumps ability to do what he promised the people who voted for him.
We saw too much of that the first time he was in office. If I was him I would get rid of every one of them. None of them are partisan or care about the country. Their only concern is getting back power for their party. They are counter productive at the least and will undermine anything Trump tries to do for the country.

That's really the most appropriate response for most of the assholery you see here - to chuckle. Very few of us would be willing to express ourselves in person the same way we do behind anonymity and miles of cable, but for those of us who would be comfortable to do so the "tough" talk is an extra layer of entertainment. ;)

I agree. There is wayyyy too much in politics and government jobs nowadays what with insider trading, travel for free, perks. Someone like Podesta gets to be head of a green energy department that doles out millions in contracts? This is the same scam he and his brother ran in Haiti and did nothing for the Haitians. He needs to can whoever and everyone he can. I think he learned from the first time and even admitted that he trusted too many entrenched politicians for recommendations. He had to because he was a novice then. He isn't anymore and any Republican RINO who refuses to put in who he wants; he will deal with them accorfingly.
