The time this MP was hindering the democratic process is reprehensible IMHO. I would bet that I know about Canadian politics on par with the average citizen up there, fiftieth percentile if you gave me a quiz. Perhaps you can be useful and direct me to a good quiz. So as a Canadian, would you rather see Americans make the attempt the study the topic or would rather see Americans that just don't give a flip about Canada?

There are many things to say about both Trudeaus, and especially about the old man. But one thing for sure with both of them, neither is or was "sneaky". With both they meet you head on. Since Mulroney we have seen a pattern for longer periods of tolerance of a party. Chretien ruled for ten years, while the Liberals hung on for twelve. We were wary of Harper and gave him only minorities, but he got ten at the helm.

What will be a big factor is what the Liberals propose as a replacement for "first past the post." Remember, Trudeau never said there would be public input on that question and it appears he's going to invent an electoral system to his liking, meaning the best for the Liberals. If there is one thing to respect about these guys is their hutzpa.

The day after his apology I was on the bus with a native woman who was talking to her friends. They were laughing about it and said "he's such a brat".
