Lol Operation Mockingbird alert!I used that metric to determine whether or not Russia has won the war, since the purpose of the war is an invasion of a sovereign country with the goal being to take ownership of the country, return it to the Russian empire, and stave off further NATO expansion. So, given the below facts:

Both sides stopped making progress at different times. At other times they BOTH made progress at different parts of the front line. For a while the BOTH stopped making progress everywhere.

That depends on the conditions of the ceasefire deal. WW2 could have been avoided if European nations outside of Germany would have agreed to be part of the Third Reich, and Asian nations would have agreed to be part of the empire of Japan.
