California vice mayor calls for gangs to help protect communities from ICE raids

There is no exception to the First Amendment regarding "calls for violence." Law enforcement aren't special.

There is an exception for "incitement" - but that's a very high bar to meet. The prosecution would have to prove that the speaker both intended to incite others to imminent lawless action, and that such imminent lawless action was likely to occur.

Ms. Gonzales' comments do not come close to meeting that bar.

We have no proof that the masked goons kidnapping people off our streets are law enforcement.

Incitement and calls to violence can be the same thing.

I mean them looking like some militia type sov citizen trying to kidnap you already raises that risk.
