Let's see how this gets defended...
Calif. Kindergartener Kicked Out of Christian School for Having 2 Moms
A five-year-old San Diego, Calif. girl is at home, instead of starting off kindergarten with her friends, because her school, the Mt. Erie Christian Academy, refused to welcome her any longer because she has two moms, KGTV reports.

The child, who had attended Mt. Erie for pre-school and summer school was abruptly cut off when her parents were called in on the Friday before Labor Day, just before school started, where the pastor broke the news.

"It was heartbreaking,” Sheena, who didn't want her last name to be used, told the news station. “I didn't finish the conversation with them when they took us in the room because I just, I didn't want to look at them any longer. I just couldn't believe that they did that."

"They told us, ‘oh this is not about your child,’ but it is about my child," the stay-at-home mom added.

Religion of peace and love and forgiveness.

That's so sad for that little girl. Private schools are allowed to discriminate, so that's pretty much that. Doesn't stop me from wanting the give a big "**** you" to the administraitors who did this, though.

I know a private school is able to do this, but it is really disgusting.

Wait, if private schools are allowed to discriminate then why aren't bars and restaurants allowed too?

They are privately owned, just like private schools.

True, but it's not the fact that the school is privately owned. It's the fact that it's not open to the public. You have to be "a member" to attend.

You just have to be enrolled in a school, its no different than walking into a bar or restaurant or even a club.

the parents might be godless sinners, but the child has done no wrong. bad call.

Bless that little girl's heart. But, in the end it was certainly a massive red flag to her parents. The school was not likely the place they'd want their daughter to be. Whatever was unknown prior to administration's expression of hatred was certainly known once the little girl was tossed out. What follower of Christ would want their child to be educated in that environment?

you apply for admission, and sign a contract, to walk into a bar, restaurant, or club?

Gee - two lesbians put their daughter in a private Catholic school . . . and then are surprised?

I think this is clearly intention on their part - using their daughter to gain publicity on the subject of gay rights.

Oh, it's very different. They don't have to enroll you. You have to pay to get a ticket to ride. These schools do not serve the general public.

Everyone needs to recognize this:

The child, who had attended Mt. Erie for pre-school and summer school was abruptly cut off when her parents were called in on the Friday before Labor Day, just before school started, where the pastor broke the news.

If its a private school, I sadly dont think they can complain but that is pretty screwed up. You dont CHOOSE who your parents are! That is like kicking a kid out since his dads in prison. Yeah, I sure its entirely the kids fault his dads in prison, he totally is as fault for being born into a family like that.. So you know screw him. We need some real Christians to get in there and tell those assholes to stop being so judge mental. JESUS WAS WITH A PROSTITUTE! He knew not to judge! Stupid jerks.

Everyone needs to recognize this:

And that means . . . ?

Clearly they didn't know she had two mothers, then. More so: that her mothers were gay (initial I believed the article to state she had two moms - like a natural mother and a step, which evidently wasn't the case.)

The courts have ruled that private religious schools cannot be forced to violate their religious edicts by keeping staff - and also most likely a child as is this case - there.

Stupid? Yes.
But within their rights: evidently.

That means it's ridiculous that the school is deciding to care, if anything, they should let this slide, what harm was done?

Id personally love to tell off this school defending this child, being raised Christian I think I kind of have more grounds to do so. Even under the logic that "Gays are evil" The child has not said they are gay, or do anything to be removed. They just happened to be adopted by gay parents. So what exactly are they proving? They are bad Christians, and on top of that idiotic intolerant assholes? **** them! May they burn in hell for being idiots. This reasoning does not even work for Christianity. I cant believe how stupid people ARE!

I hope the school is at least consistent and kicks out all kids whose parents sin. Somehow I doubt that they kick out kids of divorced parents.
