No, that's really not funny. Obama literally can't win, no matter what he does. It's been proven time and time again on this very board.
These are just the first steps in defeating the terrorists.
Islam, Muslims, myself ...
Deny them sanctuary. The Muslims community is the exact place that the extremists hide within, Without that sactuary, the extremist are ****ed.
Excommunicate anyone that remotely defends the extremism. Muslims all over the world go into apology mode, everytime there is a terrorist attack. Muslims stick together. I think that loyalty to one another is going to be their downfall.
Stop with the excuses and own up to what's going on within their own religion. Stop defending the motives. Laila has defended the motives of terrorists numerous times.
Take political correctness out of the picture. Everytime there's an attack launched by a Muslim, people swarm to defend Islam. Face the fact, that there are millions of Muslims that support what the terrorists are doing. Notice how Laila didn't have much of a problem with the motives for the attacks, when it was America, "The Great Satan"? Now that it's innocent little politicallay correct Sweden, it's suddenly cating doubt on her faith.

Eradicate the extremists, perhaps?

I thought this was worth posting, as this is the first time Sweden has been attacked since the war on terror began. We don't know yet if the person who suicide bombed was in relation to Al Qaeda, militant Islam, or was just person disgruntled by the war. More details are unfolding.
That's a good idea, not always as easy to implement as you might think, however. More often than not, especially in Western countries, neighbors, friends, fellow mosque-goers even family, have no idea that someone has already fallen too deep into extremism. There's also the fact that some Imams themselves are neck deep into it as well and use their mosque as HQ. Not everyone who attends is privy to it.
What would be easier to do is to report any suspicious activity within the community, including sermons by Imams who sound even slightly extreme. Many people won't do it, though, for fear of being wrong and getting innocent people into trouble.
I really don't think there is such a thing as excommunication in Islam. I don't believe any authority within Islam has the power to declare that someone is no longer a Muslim. Ostracizing, outcasting and condemning might be better terms to use for this particular demographic.
This may be a little subtle for you to understand, but explaining and trying to understand why criminals do what they do, does not in any way, shape or form equate to "defending" them. If that's really what you believe, you just called every single law-enforcement profiler a terrorist sympathizer. And for you to try and defame Laila's character in this manner is utterly reprehensible.
Enough with the Laila bashing. She has never condoned terrorism on this forum. Quite the opposite in fact. That her faith is starting to get shaken by the senseless actions of extremists who share her religion is totally understandable. Sweden is a politically neutral country. Its army does not engage in combat, but in peace keeping and reconstruction operations. It makes no sense in her mind for them to be attacked. Isn't this what you want? For Muslims to finally wake up and smell the coffee? Why the **** are you attacking her for that now, then? Make up your mind already.
Well, you know what they say. That first step is often the hardest to take. Also, we have to be realistic and know that defeating terrorism is an impossible task. You can drastically reduce the chances of being attacked and I think we've been doing a pretty good job of that so far. Bringing the chance of being attacked to zero, however, is never going to happen. Not with Muslims extremists, not with ANY extremists.
Should be for all extremists, regardless of religion. But I know that is not going to happen... freedom of religion > all it seems, especially in the US. Funny how you can ramble on about Muslim extremists, and yet give Christian extremists a free pass.. could it be because many of them are American?
To make this work, you first off have to define an extremist, and secondly apply this to all religions and cults. Just because much of the supposed terror today is done by people of the Muslim faith, does not mean we should give other religions a free pass when one of their members commits acts of supposed terror.
Does not exist in Islam as far as I am aware. Islam is a very fractured religion with no head to lead the religion (like a Pope).. one of the main problems if you ask me.
No she has not. She has explained why people are doing what they are doing and for the most part she is right.
Now wait a minute. This focus on Muslims is one of the main problems of today.. it is politically correct in the US and even Europe to paint all Muslims as terrorists. And as anyone knows, when a group of people get threatened or put under constant verbal attack, then said group has a tendency to close ranks. It is only natural.
And for the record, when a Christian religious nutjob does something idiotic, then people go all out to defend Christianity.. Has Pat Robertson been extra-communicated and kicked of the air for advocating the assassination of people? How about Palin for demanding that Assange gets wacked? (yes Palin is a religious nutjob). No both are defended by people like you because they are either right wingers or "good Christians".. how about the paedophile Christian cult that is still to this day doing its "work" in the US? Where is the campaign to bring these people to justice and so on? Oh yea, they are Christians... so no harm no foul.. it is after all okay to abuse Children according to the Bible.
The focus should be on the person not the religion. When a Christian fanatic kills an abortion doctor, then the focus should be on the person and the people who twisted said persons mind to carry out the act, not on the religion that a billion people live with every day without doing anything. The same goes for Islam. When a person blows himself up in a bus, then the focus should be on who twisted said person mind to carry out the act, what motivations and how to prevent another person for doing so, but instead the US right focuses on Islam as a bad religion, and hence pissing off the 1 billion Muslims that dont go around committing acts of terror.
Because like it or not, much of the "terror" in the world today is because of US policy during the last 60 years in one way or another, directly or indirectly. Iran's hatred of America is directly related to the US backed Shah. The Arab's world "issues" with the US is directly linked to the utter blind faith and support to Israel. Bin Ladens twisted world view is directly related to American influence over his own family and that of Saudi Arabia.
Sweden has troops in Afghanistan. That seems to be the motivation of this poor idiot who blew himself up.
Well, the Swedes haven't done anything, except take refugees... so perhaps they should do less to appease the wackos.
Berlinistan.
Londonistan.
Goteborgistan.
Stockholmistan.
.
Excuses, excuses, excuses, excuses is all we ever get, with a few apologies and a nice helping of, "blame America", thrown in to sweeten the pot.
The time for excuses are over. It's not good enough anymore, when a relgion that numbers at 1 billion, can't flush the nutjobs from it's ranks.

Beats your one dimensional view of a multi-faceted problem.

And name one religion that could ever flush out the nutjobs from its ranks.
Sorta like how we, despite our superior training, superior conditioning, superior technology and superior firepower can't flush the nutjobs from Afghanistan and Iraq?
More excuses? More of the sam ole PC crap about how, "every religion has it's nutjobs"?
More excuses? More of the sam ole PC crap about how, "every religion has it's nutjobs"?
We can. We just don't have political leaders with the balls to do what has to be done.
You are the one making excuses to target a minorty. People like you need an enemy to justify your existence it seems..
So what, if she blamed the downward acceleration of a falling body on the force of gravity, would you accuse her of making excuses for the falling body?
Terrorist bombings in Sweden or anywhere in Europe aren't America's problem.
Our problems are right here at home. Remember Nidal Hasan was a jihadi who infiltrated our own Army and murdered thirteen US soldiers at Ft. Hood last year. The greatest danger to Americans is from fellow Americans.
....Sure, the strength of the anti-Americanism indulged in by so many might make you want to turn your back on them, but some in Europe are starting to wake up.
