Bizarre poodle moth fascinates ... and frightens ... the masses online - Cosmic Log

It's been compared to a fluffy dog, a Pokemon character and a Power Rangers villain — but whatever it is, the Venezuelan poodle moth has captured the Internet like Mothra in a bad Japanese movie. Now it's up to the experts to figure out exactly where this moth belongs on the tree of life.

there's an ongoing debate if it's real or photoshop. the photographer is a scientist who traverses jungles to take photos of strange animals.

I have no idea and I know I dont want it flying around my house...we have enough weird flying objects here in florida

I do not like fuzzy insects....or insects in general.

That's just creepy, lol!

I don't like bugs generally but that one is actually kinda cute.

This moth had a cameo in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

i have always liked moths; there's something peaceful about them. as for Coreidae, though, i'm not a fan. they recently claimed my pumpkin plants after a month-long battle.

I had the kinda crazy thought that you could make a large version of that thing into a boss mob in some video game without changing much beyond the size.
