Where the hell are the calls for Maher's head on a stick by Islamic Cultists?
Talk about double standard. Imagine the outrage if a Conservative were to say this. OMG the heat would never end.
Bill Maher is an angry midget.
I got news for ya Cap, take a re read, conservatives in here defended Mahr on this one too. See, idealogy only matters to libs. When someone says something true we say it is true wheather we think the guy is a douche or not.

I'd like to point out the double standard that applies to this. First of all this interview with Rep. Keith Ellison in which Maher referes to the quran as a "hate filled holy book" were "on almost every page the koran instructs observant muslims to depise non-believers" is bareley mentioned in the mainstream liberal media. When Juan Williams was fired from NPR for talking about his fear of seeing muslims in airports the the mainstream liberal media was all over it for at least a week or more. Next point, if a conservative had said what Maher said to Rep. Ellison it would be huge. The media would be calling for his head on a platter. Double standard? Absolutely. As for Bill Mayers comments regarding Islamic cultural being in its midiveal era and the quran being hate filled, I agree. I have pointed out the same things that Maher did and I was treated like an Islamophob. Is Bill Maher a hate filled islamophob or is he just another guy like me who understands the truth about Islam after years of study of the quran and radical islam?
Some of you will say "the old testament this and the old testament that" I am not intrested in what the old testament says? I have read it many time. I know what is written. And I also know those who try to defend the hate in the quran use the bible and its passages to deflect the discussion away from Islam. When people confuse metaphors with the literal they should understand that spritual texts are writen as figurative parables to teach principle of conduct and were never meant to be taken literally. The problem is imams are doing just that. They are teaching that the quran is the word of god and must be taken literally. So we have brainwashed jihadist that have been indoctrinated into this radical idology.
Rep. Peter King is right for holding these hearings on the recruitment and radicalization of musims within our country. I hope he does bring in experts on the subject . People who's job it is to investigate this.
You've admitted to being an Islamophobe, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think many have forgotten about your long going crusade agianst Muslims by posting story after story. Sadly, attitudes like yours have caused a great level of hatred and intolerance across this country towards Muslims. Many innocent American Muslims have been caught in the crossfire due to these types of attitudes. Just last week a friend of mine was beaten because he was asked his name at a party and his name happens to be Usama. We need to focus on the radical element of Islam and quit trying to make blanket judgments about all Muslims. Doing this only causes more damage than good.
Ok, so im an islamophob, whatever. What about the rest of my post. What about the double standard. Do a search, none of the mainstream media have covered this story. And what about Bill Maher, is he an islamophob?
I didn't mention Mahr in my post.
And SOME conservatives do that... just like SOME liberals do it, too. You really need to add the word "some" to your posts more often.
And if were Beck who said this, conservatives would be all over these boards defending him.
Bill Maher is kind of equal opportunity in his hatred for religions. If his hatred were focused on Islam, that would be one thing...but it isn't.
Oh, I see. So its ok to say the following things about Islam if you are an athiest? "islamic culture is in it's medieval era" and the "quran is a hate-filled holy book" and "culture of suicide bombing" and "on almost every page the quran instructs observant muslims to depise non-believers"
Bill Maher is kind of equal opportunity in his hatred for religions. If his hatred were focused on Islam, that would be one thing...but it isn't.
I never said that. Did you see his movie Religulous? He attacks all religions quite equally. If his focus were as strongly towards Islam as yours is, I would agree that he is an Islamophobe. He despises all religion quite equally. By that same token, if you were on here attacking all religions with the same ferocity that you attack Muslims, I wouldn't think you were an Islamophobe.
You're right that Maher is an equal opportunity idiot. That's not the point.
Christians, Jews, Buddhists’ etc. are not engaged in a religious war where innocent civilians are the intended targets.
The vast majority of Muslims are peaceful people. But it's foolish to ignore or deny that Islamic jihadis are engaged in a religious war.
I wasn't defending Maher. I was merely stating that his hatred isn't focused on Islam. If that were the case, he would be an Islamophobe.
I also agree that the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and I didn't deny or ignore the fact that there are extremists within that religion.
You are still avoiding the main point of my initial post. The double standard in the media.
So because Maher hates all religion equally its ok, he is not an islamophobe. If I say what he said, which I have over the years on this forum I am an islamophobe.
Lets try this a different way. Lets say insted of religion we use race. Lets say Mayer hates asians, blacks, hispanics, etc, etc. Does it make him less of a bigot because he hates all races. He still hates. Hate is ok if you spread it around, right?
Well, then pointing out that it's Islamic jihadis, and not the followers of other religions, that are engaged in deliberately killing innocent people must make me an Islamophobe as well.
Again, you are missing the point. Do yourself a favor and read through the thread before replying in the future.
I'm not missing anything and I did read through the thread.
It isn't a double standard. You are assuming that both you and Bill Maher are on equal playing ground. Bill Maher hates all religions. You seem to hate one religion. If you both hated all religions, you'd have a point.
I'm not saying it makes him less of a bigot. That's not what the charge is. The term Islamophobe refers to one specific religion. If he hated that one specific religion I would call him an Islamophobe. Considering that Maher hates all religion and what they represent, his hatred of Islam doesn't really stand out that much from his hatred of other religions.
