You're right about that. Only 7%. They pay less than excise/estate taxes as a part of the revenue stream. What needs to be rethought, I feel, is the ways they manage to avoid taxes, while not increasing the rate. Yes, this is contrary to Trump policy on corporate taxes but corporations have gone from profits to profiteering and when Amazon and Wal-Mart make up so much wealth but treat their workers so badly, I think the tax code is the way to incentivize better wages. The trick would be having sticks for not doing so to go with the carrots of improving worker pay.

We need to find a balance.

I’m firmly in the middle class and my taxes went up when Obama repealed the Bush tax cuts, if Biden is elected they will do the same.
