After the failed attempt of Trump calling up federal troops to Portland I can see why Governor of Oregon is hesitant to call up the national guard to Portland just yet...Create more chaos.

He did condemn it, he condemned it three months ago, and you've spent the last two pages ignoring and denying it, which is not only cowardly, it's despicable.

I want to be really, really clear about a few things:

First, "We need to clean up this epidemic of police brutality and racial injustice but violence can't be tolerated" is a total cop out. These rioters aren't "protesting" anything. They are trashing cities and that's about it.

Second, the whole idea of police brutality and endemic racial injustice is a flat out lie. Cops are human andd some certainly have biases one way or another but with millions of police engaements every year there are VERY few that go south.

Third, just because two people get pulled over for speeding and the black guy ends up in jail while the white guy goes home DOES NOT mean that there is racial bias in policing. These situations all depend on the behavior of the suspect. If the cop pulls you over and you start hollering about how you're being mistreated and then try to drive off you aren't getting arrested because you're black. You're getting arrested because you decided to bee an asshole and then decided to leave the scene without permission. Cops bust white folks for doing that too.

Fourth, when we hear about the justice system being tougher on blacks than on whites we need to take a long, hard look at that. I've been watching lawyers like Ben Crump practice a defense of "it was all about race" when he should be arguing, "It's all about facts, circumstances, evidence, motivation and the relation off those things to the law". If you robbed a store and your lawyer's defense is "he only got arrested because he's black" you're going to end up in jail.

Fifth, this whole victim mentality and promotion of grievances without consideration of personal responsibility for WHY things are the way they are is ruining an entire generation of our youth. When you act like you have no responsibility for anything and everyone else has the responsibility to bend to your will you're going to get resistance. Using that resistance as a way of validating your "victimization" is circular logic. It doesn't make sense and, worse, it doesn't do you a damned bit of good.

That seems unlikely to be supported by fellow Democrats.

Trump did send the national guard to Kenosha and stop that violence.

KENOSHA — Authorities in Kenosha are hoping demonstrations remain peaceful this weekend as more National Guard troops from out of state make their way into town.

Wisconsin National Guard Major General Paul Knapp said there are more than 1,000 Wisconsin National Guard troops in Kenosha, and he said additional resources are coming in from Michigan, Alabama and Arizona.

Major General Knapp said their goal is to support local authorities. He said he wouldn't say he's "concerned," rather he says he's keeping track of any planned demonstrations this weekend.

"We're making sure we're prepared that anything might come up over the weekend," Knapp said.
