Yes, of course, because it's always hilarious comeuppance when an old man gets beaten up.
Was Made-off a Republican? Why would you defend this heartless scum?
Replace Madoff with an innocent convict and tell me you think its ok to beat people up.
Prison is supposed to be the punishment, not getting beat up in prison.
He is supposed to serve time and no where in sentence does it include getting beat up or anything else of that sort.
with an innocent convict
Neither does sentencing include takin' it up da butt but that's prison baby!! Wooohooo!!
I just feel...so...bad...for...Madoff.......:rofl
They're ALL innocent. Just ask 'em.
I understand that can be nice for people to be further punished for their crimes but that is not what prison is for.
It's part of the reason recidivism is so high for many crimes.
How could you be vengeful if it didn't affect you in any way?
What are you avenging?
'Cause they wanna go back to prison and take it up the poop-chute some more??
I can just see another sequel coming of "Weekend at Bernie's." :rofl
First of all..I didn't say this. I asked a question. But second...
Does Canada and Switzerland have a culture immersed in a cowboy/gangster mentality? We started out as revolutionaries then pioneers. This makes us adventurers and this never ended. After taking on thw world, we took on the moon. Are these other nations famous for their Capones and Billy the Kids? Hollywood has spent the last 80 years grorifying their criminal violence and alpha male status. There is a certain attitude America has that others do not have. We tend to have egos that need "defended" and this places Americans in a position where our individualism sets us aside form others. Our military is the most powerful in history and we dictate the mood of the globe. We like our sports violent (NFL) and our music aggresive (Rock, Rap).
I believe this attitude that has been cultivated for the last three centuries relates directly towards our higher crime rate, which has steadily gotten worse since the end of WWII.
What is your thinking about why our crime rate is higher? The water?
They're ALL innocent. Just ask 'em.
Bet I've asked more than you have. Bet I know more than you know.
Living in prison forces you adapt to that kind of culture and you learn to be more of a criminal because that is how things operate in prison.
What we need to do is figure out how to actually rehabilitate those that have been convicted of a crime instead of just throwing them in a jail cell and forgetting about them until they get out...where we just make things harder on them. This does nothing good for society as a whole.
We've been trying for years. I spent several years working daily with juvenile offenders and attending our weekly "care treatment team" meetings and all our starry eyed "behavior modification" programs. Hell, I was the leader of the pack. I knew in my heart we could make a change. I was so young then.
Then I had to work "up on the hill" at MSU (Maximum Security Unit) for the criminally insane two or three days a week or to catch some overtime as the oppertunity presented itself.
We tried everything. B-mod. Token economy.
I have just come to the conclusion, just based on my lifetime experiences, that there is just bad people in this world and all the psycho-babble in the world ain't never gonna change it. You can't rehabilitate these people.
Captain America said:I ain't talkin' about some teenager in some local jail sleeping off a drunk driving charge. I'm talking about the hard punks doing hard time. I think the "3-strike" law should be a maximum of 2 strikes myself. Screw 'em. Let them eat swill and drink sewage.

Just to make sure I understand you correctly...are you saying that more gun freedom causes crime?
(BTW Canada and Switzerland also have very lax gun laws...but without the crime rates that we have.)
statistics show that the violent crime rate there is double that of the United States.
Canada's experience has simply demonstrated that no matter what kind of gun control law a government passes, that law is doomed to failure because instead of keeping guns out of the wrong hands, the law disarms the wrong people. Canada's gun control scheme has not just failed - it has failed disastrously. Clear evidence of that can be found in a comparison of the crime rates for Canada and America.”

Well he was right in one aspect. Despite me trying I haven't amounted to anything beyond minimum wage jobs.
So here's what I have to say on it.
Thanks society for making my life harder just because I was stupid when I was 18. I've owned up to what I did. I've paid my dues and then some. But you will never let me forget it. You will never let me try and do better or become a better person.
