Bannon Removed From National Security Council Role in Shakeup

Trump will continue to do what is in the best interests for the people of our country. He's not a political potted plant like Barack Hussein Obama who stuck up for his appointed political hacks no matter now incompetent and destructive they were.

At the time Obama thought it was the truth. Can you say the same about Trumps 3AM tweet Obama wiretapping his phone.

You reckon Donny signed those cardboard cutout for the disabled Vets he stole from ala Trump U ?

I got loads more on the Fraud in Chief, the man is own bad press.

In other words, he pushed legislation without knowing what was in it. It doesn't take a genius to understand that if you mandate insurers to provide certain coverages in their plans then anyone that has a plan that doesn't meet that government requirement will no longer be able to keep that plan.

As for Trump, We are talking about someone that believes just about anything he reads as long as it fits the narrative in his head. So yes, I believe it is likely he thought it was the truth. I believe most of the things he says he likely believes whether it be delusional (the crowd size stuff) or the exaggerated claims (voting fraud).

"Hussein". Everyone drink!

Interesting...

President Donald Trump reorganized his National Security Council on Wednesday, removing his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, and downgrading the role of his Homeland Security Adviser, Tom Bossert, according to a person familiar with the decision and a regulatory filing.

A good day for adults; a few moments of glory in the middle of amateur hour at 1600 Pennsylvania.

I think you are giving him too much credit, I doubt he understood what he was signing.

I'm curious though, when Obama said "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan" did Obama have no clue what was in the ACA or did he deliberately lie to the American people?

Neither. It was a poor prediction... He had every basis to make that statement, except he was expecting more insurance companies to participate.

So, to those of you on this thread who believe Bannon and Bossert are going to fade away, I have this one piece of advice:DON'T GIVE UP YOUR DAY JOBS.(Oh, and if you don't have a job, DON'T piss off Mom)

Exactly--Bannon hasn't lost any of his clearances--as trump would say, this shell game with Bannon was a ruse

There are only 3 options in this matter:

1) He is an idiot that didn't realize what his bill would do. We can safely rule this one out. If this were Trump or Bush then it would have been a reasonable excuse.

2) He didn't know everything in the bill. Entirely plausible given the size of the bill, especially when Pelosi comes out and makes quite possibly the most ridiculous claim in political history, "We have to pass it to see what is in it."

3) He knew exactly what was in the bill and deliberately lied to the American people in order to push his agenda forward. I would like to believe this is not the case but Democrats have shown in other areas (gun control in particular) that they will push any lie necessary in order to get the public behind them.

Insurance participation only amounts to part of the issue, the majority of people that lost their plans were due to the original plans not meeting the new government standard. He either knew about the MEC and assumed insurances would still provide the original plans under the grandfather clause or simply lied knowing that people would lose the plan they had.

EDIT: Had to make a correction

Disregard my last comment. I didn't realize there was a grandfather clause, I still believe he should have known that insurance companies would discontinue those plans.

Sorry, it was a poor prediction. I might categorize as irresponsible as not dissimilar to a company that changes its health plan, particular things change, but the overall plan remains the same. The point was choice remains with the insured. It is not a government program that consists of government doctors. My doctor did not change, for example (granted, that is anecdote)

But, seriously, its a nothing "lie" compared to the stuff that we are now dealing with on a daily basis

While I disagree with him politically, I believe Obama is likely the most intelligent President we have had in my lifetime (considering the choices, it wasn't exactly a high bar to pass). I just find it hard to believe he didn't know that was a lie unless he truly didn't know what was included in the bill.

On the opposite end of the spectrum I think Trump and Bush (2) are likely the most ignorant. It would not shock me that he read something and passed it without realizing the consequences of it.

I agree on your last point, especially with Republicans. They love to talk about smaller government and fiscal responsibility up to the point that they get into office when they basically become just like Authoritarian Democrats with a brand new credit card.

Trump successfully changed his entire political platform to fool a bunch of so called "conservatives" into believing he was one of them, despite being a liberal for the majority of his life. I don't like the guy, and I believe he says a lot of stupid things, but I don't believe he is stupid. To pull off the scam he did has to take some intelligence, even if you believe a lot of the voters he fooled are stupid.

Trump isn't stupid. If something wasn't working out he will move people where they are either more effective or less damaging.
It wouldn't surprise me to see bannon fired pretty soon.

Seeing Bannon getting fired would be amusing, because it would cause a rift between Trump and his Breitbart supporters. Then again, Breitbart and it's readers are so in the tank for Trump, I suspect they would throw Bannon under the bus as long as it makes Trump look good.

Reportedly. I'd have a hard time believing it for any other administration but sounds extremely believable with this one.

Really?

You forgot about "We had to pass it, to find out what was in it"?

Bannon reportedly threatened to leave White House after NSC shakeup | Fox News

Stephen Bannon, President Trump’s controversial chief strategist, was removed from the National Security Council on Wednesday and reportedly threatened to resign from the Trump administration.

Rebekah Mercer, a top Republican donor, had to urge Bannon not to quit after he was removed from his post, sources told Politico. Mercer “tried to convince him that this is a long-term play,” a GOP operative said. Bannon reportedly opposed the change and wanted to quit if the president gave the OK.

“It hasn’t all been fun, and I know he’s been frustrated,” one Republican close to Bannon said.

The White House said that Bannon had not attempted to leave the White House and Bannon added that any indication that he threatened to resign was “total nonsense.”

It's too bad, it would have been great had Bannon actually gotten so mad over this that he quit.

I read somewhere that Bannon is not off the committee, but has moved to a more minor role.

The fantasy that has more evidence for than the claimed Russian/Trump collusion, you mean?

Yeah, sure; that's why Nunes has recused himself.

Whatever you say.

In what world do you live where Nunes didn't recuse himself because he ran a questionable investigation and being hounded by the media vs recusing himself because he found a smoking gun? Keep up with your fantasy.

You do realize that is an out of context quote.

Pelosi, when asked about unintended consequences of the PPACA, pretty much said that we really will not know what they all are until the bill is implemented, which can not happen until its passed. Unintended consequences are, almost by definition, learned in experience and not always anticipated. Usually a complicated bill has unintended consequences, which are usually addressed in future legislation.

It was a rational statement, when taken in context, but can be fun when parsed or paraphrased. OTH, when you deliberately (or ignorantly) take things out of context so as to misrepresent what is said, then you are wandering into falsehoods, or lies, for short.

Look, I'm not trying to target anyone specific. Fact is, almost no one in DC, except the interns, actually reads everything put in front of them. They get an abridged version from someone, and vote or sign accordingly.

Nunes recused himself because he was running around with "leaked documents" that came from the White House itself and he's effectively tampered with the investigation.

There's nothing questionable about any of this! Russia tampered with our election process and Trump people talked with Russians during Trump's campaign, so said people are being investigated and one has been fired, another removed from his office and the Obama administration is guilty of nothing!! Trump is an habitual liar and has zero credibility. But, you keep believing everything he and Breitbart say and showing everybody why the radical right-wing has this country teetering on the brink of disaster yet again!

Nothing....nothing!!!. The more shrill you are is a direct correlation to desperation.

It's coming down the pipe. A lot of this is new information coming out.

Obama nor Rice are under investigation though- are they...

Nothing was confirmed by the FBI Director regarding who is -was under FBI investigation.
That would compromise any investigation
