Bail reform protects criminals over victims

I think what's happened is, judges aren't even bothering to figure out HOW this so called "no bail" law even applies.
If I remember correctly it only applies to a narrow segment, mostly first time criminal cases involving misdemeanors and non-violent offenses.

I don't EVER remember ANY discussion about using it and applying it to felonious acts, like robbery, armed robbery, assaults, the law was SUPPOSED to help people who were being stuck in jail for MONTHS for being too poor to afford a few hundred dollars bail on minor cases.

Instead it almost seems like a bunch of judges just threw up their hands and are saying, "Okay, no bail for ANYBODY, doesn't matter what you're charged with."

And I just can't ever remember ANYONE on the issue of no bail ever arguing about something like that as a fair application of the concept.
Perhaps someone else can show me where that was ever part of the issue, because it doesn't smell right to me.

Surely, you could have found an example of a violent criminal being released without bail in NY to make your point. The victim, in this case, was an already dead tree.

Thank the progressive DAs and their terminally flawed public policies as well as the progressive / Democrat / liberal city leaders who've adopted 'no bail' public policies.

The city voters voted that mess and criminality on themselves. Let them stew in it. Hopefully to be remembered next time they enter the voting booth.

Silent majority, good one. The gop is not silent nor is it a majority. They just seem to be because they are so loud and constantly challenging the rule of law which they say they love but don't abide to themselves. Meadows and Stone are the latest examples. What's not to like about the gop?
