Attorney General Barr promises Mueller report 'within a week'

WASHINGTON - U.S. Attorney General William Barr told lawmakers on Tuesday that he intends to release within a week the long-awaited report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election from Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

"Within a week I will be in position to release that report to the public and then I will engage with the chairmen of both judiciary committees about that report, about any further requests that they have," Barr said at a congressional hearing.

Democrats in Congress and the MSM ranting for release of the report - many calling Barr a liar - has always been nothing but a diversion. Barr has always said he would release the report and the President always said he favors the release. The ranting has always been wasting everyone's time.

Many will assert that what they must see in the report has (must have?) been redacted.

So long as a single sentence of that report is blacked out, the Collusion Truthers will claim that that is where the evidence of Trumps guilt is hidden.

Yep, the show must go on.

Exactly.
It's always been about making the optics look badly for the WH...Today we learn it is Mueller's team of attorneys who are doing the redactions. Too funny.

Clowns.

I understand the need for redactions, but I also understand that he is not going to allow Congress to see an unredacted version. That is, Congress will supposedly get the same version the public gets. I don't think that will fly.

Attorney General Barr promises [heavily redacted] Mueller report 'within a week'

Far closer to the truth. From Trump initially wanting the entire report released to....

Yea, those crazy truthers actually think that the three branches of government are supposed to be a check on eachother and provide oversight. How silly of them.

Before Congress today, Barr refused to say if the White House has already seen the full Mueller Report.

Mr. Transparent Barr at his Senate confirmation hearing has now morphed into Mr. Opaque Barr at crunch time. Doesn't look good at all.

Yes, they will assert that, and based on Barr's behavior to date that will be entirely justified.

Even if they got an unredacted copy, they would claim Mueller left something out.

And on it will... on and on and on and on...

No, it's actually very clear what will satisfy people on the left.

1. Release to the public the report that the Mueller team created for public consumption.
2. Release to the House Judiciary Committee (to be viewed behind closed doors) the entire unredacted report.
3. Mueller testifies that his investigation was not interfered with in any way.

That is it.

Actually, y'all think Congress has power over the Executive Branch.

It's not like Mueller's team has indicated the Barr summary wasn't accurate. Why would somebody who has already made a political report not make another?

What a contrast between the quiet professionalism of Barr, and the wild-eyed, slobber-slinging, insult tossing lunacy of our Democratic legislators.

They haven't indicated that it's innacurate, either.

That's the law.

That's exactly what's happening. Honestly, at times I wish Barr would just release the entire report along with a list of investigations that have been compromised, and innocent people whose reputations have been ruined, and grand jury proceeding that have been compromised. Maybe then the Collusion Truthers would be happy.

1. That also had information which cannot be released.
2. That would be currently be against the law.
3. More than fair and reasonable.

Nah, they'll never be happy.
If they got what you described above, they'd complain the 400 pages that compile document is the wrong color.

I think where all of this makes a difference or not is there are legitimate questions that aren't clarified by the report as it is submitted. Like much of the political theater we see, this situation is one comprised of those who want to move on and not care about the details, and those looking for something in those details.

1. You're lying (as always)
