Asininity -- I Really Can't Say Anymore, I Am Speechless

Yes, if someone was writing a what not to do book, you would certainly be an exemplar of behaviour and attitude to avoid.

And just to be clear - I don't know you or anything about you or your life but the conduct you describe here today and the attitude you take towards it is not something I would ever simply let pass for fear you might consider it's condoned.

and your presuming that I need or care about anything you may or may not condone is duly noted.

I don't remember ever "presumping" anything in my life - I'm probably too old for it and I'll leave that to Miley Cyrus.

As for not caring what others think, why then bother creating and posting a thread? Unless all you want and expect is ass kissing responses in return.

and the childish picking of nits begins...

I didn't say I didn't care what others think. You said that I shouldn't expect my actions to go unchallenged for fear of thinking they're condoned. This implies two things, one that I need or am seeking acceptance for my behavior and two that it is yours I seek. Both are false.

Wouldn't it have been more efficient to tow the trailer?

I suppose though as a matter of efficiency, the trailer should have arrived when everything else did no matter how she transported it. She carried the trailer in her lap regardless because she didn't want stuff to get wet. Too bad the top was down.

We should be intolerant of people being disrespectful.

I agree, however what was accepted 24 years ago isn't accepted today. I watch where I smoke and who I smoke around. If I'm walking down the street and a lady and her kid come walking by, I do my best to move my cig away from them, switch it to the other hand or something. Now, smoking here, is illegal in buildings, you got to go outside. So now what's the complaint? They have to spend 5 seconds and walk by the guy smoking outside the front door. So what did they do? Made a 15 ft. perimeter smoke free zone outside entrances. and people still whine like litte, spoiled, rotten brats. 24 yrs ago, you could still smoke at your desk in many places. So you see, the only concessions being made are by the smoker. I'm getting tired of having to deal with whimpering snotty little a-holes, because it affects their delicate sensibilities momentarily while smokers have to do back flips and cartwheels to continuously be accommodating to these twerps, it does get a bit tiresome, and unlike myself, others allow their frustrations to get the better of them at times.

Not to mention that non smokers more times than not are less than respectful when complaining to smokers. I can tell you I've personally been disrespected more times than I can count when my smoke bothered somebody, even in places and at times where smoking is permissible. So I'm not gonna sit and listen to how smokers are so disrespectful when I've seen a helluva lot more disrespect coming from the other camp.

Perhaps it's time for you to join the "other camp" and show them how to respect smokers. You'll feel better and have fewer health risks.

As for me, I'm perfectly OK with smoking. You can smoke anything you like, as long as it is outdoors and downwind.

Sounds to me like a move designed to create more felons. Which of course means less people legally owning guns. Not surprised considering this is Illinois though.

I flick my butts on the ground on occasion. But then I smoke self rolled ciggarettes without fiberglass butts. And being that it is self rolled it doesn't have the chemical that is put on regular cigarettes papers that keeps the cigarette burning. A slight breeze will (and often does) put them out. Also since it doesn't have the fiberglass butts the first rainfall will often deteriorate the paper rather quickly leaving nothing behind but some plant matter.

IDOT, Firemen, State POLICE and Farmers enjoy having the Interstates and their field burned by Butt-heads.

Why can't they just make that a felony, which I'm assuming it already is, and charge you with that crime if your butt so happens to start a wildfire?

How are they going to prove that it was your butt that started the fire?

It would be better to require anyone caught littering, whether it's butts or whatever, to spend a weekend picking up litter. That should discourage the litterbugs and help clean up public places as well.

Unless, of course.....

Just another reason why Illinois is one of the worst states to live in.

A fact which is causing me to find a place for suitable relocation.

We are also Chicago free. ;)

Chicago in and of itself I love. The current crop of politicians, the rest of the state, the Ohio imports who don't know what the word respect means, all that I dislike very, very, very much, but Chicago, that's my town...

I don't know about KY, but we have some pretty dry areas near our roads right now. Why can't people just put out their butts in their car. Most drivers would take the chance that their butt wouldn't start a fire, to answer your question.

Lived there. You couldn't pay me to go back. It's getting just as bad as California...worse in some aspects.

WA is no were near Cali

I wish they would make it a felony here.
Almost every brush fire down here is from cigarette butts.
Use your ashtray.

I'll mark you down as another member of the PIC...
