Arnold Schwarzenegger's 2020 message to the Russian people

Much to the US’ horror.

Why should anyone care what the US says about Putin? America is currently waging a war of aggression itself.
I don't know why anyone should care what the US says about Putin. That was true last week too.

I can condemn both the US and Russia. Can you?

The only reason the US hasn’t attacked Russia, btw, is the massive Russian nuclear arsenal and willingness to use it.

I knew -
Iran , Russia, which of these two countries already has nukes?

Your diversions are non sequitur examples because there's no relavent connection from one event to the other.

I knew -
So yes, the US has no room to talk about Russia given its actions. Glad we’ve throughly established that.

So yes, the US has no room to talk about Russia given its actions. Glad we’ve throughly established that.

And that means Russia has no right stealing Ukraine.

Yet America believes Israel has every right to steal Palestinian land.

You've told me it's all equivalent. I don't believe Israel has any right to steal Palestinian land, the US has no right to bomb anyone, and Russia has no right to steal Ukraine.

Except, once again, the US says otherwise. America’s actions speak far louder than words.

America says Israel has every right to steal Palestinian land. Nobody has missed the double standard..

@Tigerace117
I'm not concerned with your vague and meaningless strawman "America" because I never said America has a right to steal anyone's land or bomb anyone's country.

Oh , so now you want to adhere to international law? Why all the sudden should Russia conform to international law? If the US is wrong, then Russia is too.

Aren't you saying the US is wrong for bombing Iran, but you can't admit Russia is wrong for invading Ukraine. If America has no right to bomb Iran, then Russia has no right to invade Ukraine.

It’s not a “strawman” when the US has repeatedly made the same claims across multiple administrations.

The US indeed “justifies” its bad behaviors with wails about Russia, yes. Endlessly.

The US is hypocritical about stealing land from Palestinians, and Russia is hypocritical in their condemnation of the bomb of Iran yesterday. So they're equivalent, they're both hypocritical.

Meaning The US has no right to bomb Iran and Russia has no right to steal Ukraine.

Gonna anyway.
Yeah, the U.S. was yapping about freedom when Jim Crow was still around too, but that doesn’t mean anyone was obligated to take it seriously.

If anything, Iran’s been kind of lenient. If I was running a country and people started gassing my civilians while the “bastion of freedom and democracy” cheered them on, I’d be anything but.

When the U.S. stops threatening Iran then you’re argument would have merit.

Until then….

That's nice.

This isn't some grand crusade we want people to clap over. It is a pragmatic, cynical exercise of power to a specific end.

The specific end is Israel said so, and the US is a pathetic joke, so we do what Bibi demands.

America is so ls so laughably subservient you can’t even have Israelis as the antagonists in action novels.

When Putin stops threatening Ukraine then your argument would have merit.

Russia violated international law.
The US violated international law.

Russia condemned the US.
The US condemned Russia.

I criticize both countries, how about you?

A few people put the flag on their F-150s: $100.
Russians die for a microwave: death.

What do you think is dumber?

Who is dumber? Get serious

When America stops carrying out blatant campaigns of aggression, then its whining about Russia will have merit.

Until then, no amount of “but Putin” matters.

The Russian people were already familiar with Arnold because the movie Red Heat (1988) was filmed in Moscow and released in Russia.

Here Arnold speaks to the Russian people personally and tells them that the Putin government is lying about the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2020.

Not only Red Heat. The Russians loved Arnie, they bootlegged all his films in the 80s and 90s.

You've got it backwards because when Putin stops carrying out a blatant campaign of aggression, then his whining about the West will still be a diversion from the real issues.

In the meantime, there's no crime the US can commit that makes Putin innocent. There's no crime Putin can commit that can make the US innocent.

Putin committed crimes and the US cannot erase them by doing something else.

The US committed crimes and Putin cannot erase them by doing something else.

Crimes of the US do not give Putin permission to commit any attrocities. Putin invaded Ukraine, he's responsible for the killing, and he deserves nothing.

Nope, America doesn’t get to wail “but Putin” while waging blatant wars of aggression, sorry.

America’s desperation to whine “Putin Putin Putin Putin Putin” can’t justify or change the facts about its behavior.

America attacked Iran based on lies, is aiding the Israeli mass murder campaign in Gaza, and it and its allies deserve nothing .

America doesn't, but I do:

I condemn the US for bombing Iran.

I condemn Russia for invading Ukraine.

I condemn both, can you?

America’s desperation to whine “Putin Putin Putin Putin Putin” can’t justify or change the facts about its behavior.

You're correct that no mere words can excuse or erase Putins' crimes and attrocities. You would also be correct by the same logic if you clarified that nothing the US or the West ever does gives Putin permission to start wars. You can wail all day and it won't change the fact that Putin started this war and he refuses to stop it. That's true no matter what attrocities the US commits.

America attacked Iran based on lies, is aiding the Israeli mass murder campaign in Gaza, and it and its allies deserve nothing .

You are correct and I agree completely.

That doesn't change Putins illegal and immoral war or his invasion of a sovereign nation. America is to blame for its crimes and Putin is still guilty of his own crimes. The US deserves to be condemned and Putin is still to be condemned as a war criminal.
