Are there more uneducated voters on the left or on the right?

Are there more uneducated voters on the left or on the right?

Just curious. The left claim that the uneducated people voted Trump into office. I say there are more uneducated on the left than there are on the right.

Plus...all you have to do is look at voter statistics/demographics. People with higher education/degrees tend to vote more Democrat. People with high school education or less tend to vote Republican.

You could have actually done a wee bit of very easy research that would have clued you in to reality.

Let's be clear, educated and smart are two very different terms.

Yes, cherry picked stats can say that.

There is a different reality in your head. What country did you say you were from again?

Nice Kelly Ann Conway! Why do conservatives always play such con games? A serial liar as prez and con after con after con as their spokespeople.

LOL. But, but, but, Hillary won the popular vote.

Yes...and Hilary...whether you liked her or now, was highly qualified for the job. Trump is an amateur and doesn't have a clue what he is doing. People voted for him based on celebrity status....like California did with Arnold....the results with that were equally as poor.

Cherry picked? This is the actual data MR...there's nothing cherry picked about it. The higher level of education the more likely you voted for Hilary. Trump won by attracting the uneducated and the under-educated. The stats speak for themself.

Hmmmmm, wasn't there a Z-grade movie actor named Con Reagan that was also a conservative president?

And Obama was very unqualified for the job. Do you admit that, or are you going to start backpeddling?

I think that you're asking the wrong question. What should be asked is which is better informed of the facts. Being educated and knowing and understanding facts are two very different things. An education that leads one to blind acceptance without critical thought is pretty much useless.

Yes. People cherry pick actual data to prove their point, while ignoring the data that doesn't prove their point. That's what cherry picking is, presenting one side of the picture while conveniently not presenting the other side.

Neither side of the uneducated are better informed of the facts. Both sides believe the mindless propaganda spewed by their own party or by the biased media.

Another anti-intellectual. True, you can’t get common sense from a degree. However, a college education does provide you with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and exposure to help you understand the complexities of a changing, dynamic world. On the other hand, those who choose to live their entire lives in the town where they were born and raised, where 90% or more of their neighbors think, believe, and look just like them, are resigned to isolating themselves in a cultural bubble.

It can also lock you into specific ways of thinking that avoid critical thinking and reinforce blind acceptance. Most well educated people I know base all of their decision-making on what they were taught, those without that education base their decision-making an what they have seen to be proven facts. A person who is educated poorly can be a major liability. My first experience with this kind of thinking was when I was about 17 and my dad hired this kid straight out of the Forestry program at our local Community College. We were trying to get fire started in a snowstorm and Mr. College Education decided to show us how he had been taught to do it in Forestry classes. He proceeded to spin the gas cap off his saw and up-end it over the smoldering fire ( I saw what was coming and stepped back behind a tree). The flame ran up the fuel stream and blew out the side the tank on his saw, leaving him about a 1" square piece of it in his cheek. He had been TAUGHT to do something that no one I know would ever do.

Well let's see: on the one hand you have groups of people who have beliefs like that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, that trickle down economics works, in biological theories of race and misogyny, that homosexuality is a choice, that global warming in a Chinese hoax, and that Obama has still not shown us his real birth certificate.

On the other, you have people who think that a just and prosperous society has an ethical obligation to provide at least some basic safety nets and protections for all its citizens, like a basic education, healthcare, and shelter.

It's not a tough call.

Yes! And that's why formal education is bad. And global warming is a Chinese hoax, and the Earth is only 6000 years old, and trickle down economics works. Right? :lamo

Those are mostly all biased partisan opinions. Can you state actual facts? About the only thing you can say out of that mess is that there is a small segment of society who believe the Earth is 6,000 years old. And, on the other hand, you've got many people on the left who believe stuff just as stupid as that.

Correlation does not equal causation.

I didn't inject an opinion on this post, my friend...only presented the data set.

Though as an analyst, while correlation doesn't always equal causation, it certainly tells one where to look first. It's still generalizing, but this was an "in general" question.

Out of curiosity, how would you interpret this data set?
