Anything written or promoted by blue-haired vegan witches.
What are some examples of books "written or promoted by blue-haired vegan witches" that have been censored in public schools?
No.Are there any specific books, kinds of books or book topics that you think shouldn't be in public school libraries?
For discussion sake, here's some examples of book topics:
Books with...
Gun violence
Explicit sex
The N word
Killing animals
Murder
Abortion
Cultural appropriation
Are there any books, book topics, book genres, etc. that you wouldn't want your child's teacher to use for instruction?
Which parents? Are you saying all parents think alike? Are you proposing the curriculum be voted on by parents rather than set by the school board? And, a related question, should parents have a say in what books are (or aren't) in public school libraries or books teachers are using for instruction in the classroom?
I didn't say there were. I simply answered the question: "Are there any specific books, kinds of books or book topics that you think shouldn't be in public school libraries?"
Okay, what are some examples of books "written or promoted by blue-haired vegan witches" that you believe should be censored in public schools? Actual books, not categories of books.
You obviously can't read or understand basic English. Reread the OP's question and feel stupid on your own time.
Have a great weekend.
No.

I can't answer your questions until you answer mine. Your list would wipe out the entire world and American history departments. Maybe that's the goal?
Anything written or promoted by furries.
Anything that promotes My Little Bronie's culture.
The parents of children at the school.Which parents?

No. They should know what the curriculum is and have input, though. Are you proposing the curriculum be voted on by parents rather than set by the school board?
My list was just a discussion starter. I'm not for removing books with all of those things from public school libraries.I can't answer your questions until you answer mine. Your list would wipe out the entire world and American history departments.

Everything is relative. The N word, is historical in context and unless you discuss why it's inappropriate you don't solve anything or stop it. Same with most of the topics listed. Dealing with controversial topics is beyond most writters ability and certainly above most public school teachers and counselors. Less is more in most of these cases. I'd say explicit sex doesn't have a need in a public school library and the younger the age level the less needed are most of the listed topics. Some things are truly inappropriate and others are disliked because they offend someone or some group. If we go on the tendency to cancel topics because someone is "offended" we will not have anything left. Are there any specific books, kinds of books or book topics that you think shouldn't be in public school libraries?

Let me put it this way; I wouldn't ban any books from the library.None? All books -- no matter their content -- should be in public school libraries?
It did, but not the way I wrote it, which is why I edited it out. My point is that we don't second-guess other professionals. Only the school board.Did you realize your doctor question made no sense?
Those two are connected. Have you got the connection? The parents of children at the school.
No.
The curriculum is available to anyone, not just parents. What kind of input? Either they have a binding vote or not. Everyone is free to offer their opinions to the school board, again, not only parents.No. They should know what the curriculum is and have input, though.
I see no purpose in removing something from a public school library that is available at any of the local city and county libraries. Looks like feel-good aggression rooted in control issues. My list was just a discussion starter. I'm not for removing books with all of those things from public school libraries.

I think we should open children up to all of reality, not hide it from them.
Probably Henry Miller wouldn't be a good idea. Are there any specific books, kinds of books or book topics that you think shouldn't be in public school libraries?

No. No child should be reduced to a lowest common denominator. If I have an 8th grade daughter who is capable and mature enough for <you pick the adult-oriented title>, I don't need my idiot neighbors telling me otherwise, especially legally. There's no line at all?
That's not what I said. You think you should never question doctors?
This option already exists. Here, watch.Input into what they think about the curriculum being chosen. Ultimately, it's up to the school board to make the decision.

Tropic of Capricorn, Tropic of Cancer, Black Spring, those are good starters. He wrote between the two WW's as an American expat in Paris. He's been dead a long time.Never heard of him. What does he write?
